In the end, Deanna had to leave under Thomas' persuasion. She threw Liliana a glare before standing up but, the former still paid no heed to her.
Furious, Deanna stormed out of the room.
Thomas exhaled a sigh. It was a good decision not to let his eldest and second daughter be together here.
As much as Thomas doted on Deanna, dealing with her childish antics was still exhausting.
"Are you happy now that you get what you wanted?" asked Thomas to Liliana. The smile he showed to Deanna earlier was replaced with a stern look.
Liliana smiled faintly, "Being a divorcee is not bad. My situation is far better than most people's."
Thomas held back from saying any hurtful remark. There was truth in what Liliana had just said.
Whenever a divorce occurred in high society, lawsuits were expected to happen. Both parties were adamant for the other to follow their demands, especially in property divisions and the alimony amount.
I'm sorry for the delay, got a family function today. So, we get into Thomas' past a bit ;)
