Izuku went back to his infirmary room with a tray full of food enough for him and Inko with a side fish dish for Lin from the cafeteria. The sun had already risen for quite a bit and he believed that Inko had not yet had lunch today
Izuku stared at Inko's tired sleeping face, unsure of how to best handle the current situation. The previous chinch of an exam he promised had melted into a puddle of messy issues. For one, the incident that had hurt her deeply before suddenly resurfaced, and this time it was out for her son.
Once was plenty and yet it happened twice. Izuku himself wasn't bothered by his own outburst whatsoever as it didn't even produce a single casualty but he worried it might affect her mental health and prevent him from pursuing his "dream" of becoming a hero. After all, U.A. hadn't even begun and an accident had already occurred.
While previously applying to U.A. was but an action Izuku did on a whim, after viewing All Might's power firsthand, he really thought it was beneficial to join an environment where he could exploit for his growth.
His current goal was as simple as being strong or versatile enough to be able to escape with Toga should someone like All Might chase her. The chances of said event happening weren't zero, and he had long decided to look out for his little blood maniac till the very end. Of course currently, if push comes to shove, he'd leave her for his safety but that's neither here nor there.
His end goal is then to surpass All Might by a considerable margin, at least enough to be able to overwhelm the hero in one action. Of course, there are other goals in between these but overall, Izuku's perspective had changed from taking things this lax with his women into a more strenuous one.
As Izuku sat, contemplating his course of action, he felt a movement from the bed and noticed Inko slowly waking up. He let her eyes open naturally and softly grasped her hand in his.
"Izuku?" Inko wiped her eyes open, a puzzled look on her face. She recalled receiving a distressing phone call. She took a frantic ride with her friend Mitsuki, only to find her son fast asleep on an awfully familiar bed. Despite the fact that she couldn't locate any signs of pain on his body, the fact that it happened again terrified her.
And yet, she was currently sleeping on the bed, as if she were the one involved in the long-ago incident. "Are you okay?" Inko asked, her shaky hands cupping Izuku's cheeks. The reports showed that he was fit, but she is concerned about any injuries that only his body was aware of.
Feeling the warmth on his cheeks, Izuku couldn't help but open a warm smile back to her, returning her gift and laying his hand on hers, hoping it was enough to quell her worry. "Of course I am Mom, always,"
Inko stared at her son's gaze and saw no lies within it. Just hearing his usual voice was enough for her worry to dissipate. She initially wanted to say many things to her son, especially about him underestimating the exam but after seeing him awaken, all full of his usual smiles comforting her, everything else didn't matter. Both of them knew of the risks of his future endeavors and this probably won't be the last time he comes home in stitches.
She didn't want to start their current and future conversation by reprimanding him; all she wanted was to be relieved that he was okay. That he came home bruised, but still safe and sound. Inko gave Izuku a tap of love on his forehead and hugged him into her bosom, feeling satisfied that everything was alright.
The expected scenario didn't happen, but the current one is more fulfilling than any he could have imagined happening.
After all, he had done something wrong, even if it was unintentional, and a word was the least he expected. Hearing her erratic beating heart turning into a calm tune, on the other hand, was more than enough words for him to lament his thoughts and decisions for the better.
Izuku silently vowed to take as few risks as possible from now on to prevent something like today from happening again. No one expected Recovery Lady's quirk to backstab him but that's life, full of events no one can predict. He was careless and he paid the price.
He wanted Inko's heart to only beat fast when she was with him, not at the expense of him.

U.A. didn't make simple things complicated and let Izuku leave after a final health checkup. Only 1 girl at the last moment had her leg injured but U.A. took the responsibility from him, and it didn't matter now.
Inko took Izuku home and forced him to rest as she wanted to tend the house alone for today, hoping for him to relax lest an unexpected injury resurface. Izuku complied and enjoyed the care with a smile.
Only he knew that his body was already in perfect condition, better than when the day started even as he felt the limits of his body increasing as a result of the unfortunate event.
Izuku felt a bit itchy, wanting to train and expand his limits even further but repressed it for now. The exam results won't be released for a while and he'd have time to do so then.
Izuku saw the two laid-out yoga mats in the living room and could guess what happened before she went to his side. He thought to give Mitsuki a wish if she wanted later after all she'd done for Inko. It couldn't be stressed enough how much Inko valued their friendship and he'd hope for it to last forever.
'Though, I wonder what'll happen when Mom realizes my relationship with Mitsuki,' Izuku thought, not looking forward to that day. There's little chance of it going peacefully or having minimal consequence but Izuku always somehow went out unscathed when it comes to his interpersonal relationship. He hoped for it to happen again.
The day passed as usual with Izuku slipping in as much flirting as he could to Inko. Izuku did eventually notice that Inko had started to respond to his advances much more than usual. Whenever he leaned in for a peck, Inko would only pat his head or slightly blush but instead, she now often returned with a kiss of her own.
Izuku attributed the change to a temporary effect of the previous fear of losing him overwhelming her affection setting. In simple terms, she turned bolder for now. Of course, Izuku didn't let the chances go to increase their affection towards one another, hoping to capitalize on it as best he could.
Inko more often than not rejects Izuku's hope to sleep together but today was different. They had just gone through a relapse of trauma after all so it calls for a special day.
Tucking Lin into her own bed, Izuku went over to the master bedroom and snuggled deep into Inko's embrace. He preferred to be the one embracing his woman but Inko wouldn't take no for an answer. At least not for today.
It might not be their first time to act this reliant towards one another. They even almost crossed a line before but today's situation had something different. Izuku kept his ears on listening to his mother's loud heartbeat while Inko enjoyed his warmth and patted Izuku's hair.
Izuku looked up at his mother's gaze and asked, "Don't you want to know what happened yesterday?"
Inko never asked him off yesterday's event which puzzled him. He thought she would be curious at least but no.
Inko shook her head and kissed his forehead, "I'm just happy you returned safely. I realized today that Izuku's now a man who doesn't need his mother to babysit his every move. All I'm concerned about is your safety and as long as you return to me, I'm happy,"
She looked at Izuku's eyes and noticed his tighter hold on her body. His hands were both wrapping tightly around her waist, pressing their body as close as possible, and giggled, "Though, fu fu~, seeing that Izuku is this dependent on me, maybe I shouldn't yet,"
Izuku enjoyed her small laugh and let her embrace push him deeper into her bosom. If there's anything Izuku was to be happy about it is that Inko had now consciously looked at him as an adult.
It wouldn't necessarily increase the effectiveness of his advances but he felt content with it nonetheless. After previously botching up his plan with Mitsuki, Izuku refrained from taking risks. He realized that he only had one chance to make her his. A chance he couldn't afford to lose.
Unbeknownst to Izuku, Inko let out a tired sigh as she kept her gaze on Izuku's sleeping face. Her fluctuating stance on her son's advances had been tilting more and more towards acceptance as the days passed by. His actions might have always been the usual but the same cannot be said about her resistance.
Deep down she knew she should stop him but her thoughts and actions always faltered whenever he showed his care for her. Sometimes she wonders what lines they would have already crossed if she just stopped and accepted everything with open arms.
Every day was a battle between the pain of rejecting his show of love and the pleasure of basking in his care. Inko would've hoped that she was strong enough to make a decision on either end and yet all she did was limbo around the lines of immorality. She felt weak.
Today was the last weight that tipped her scale towards Izuku. Holding his warm hands in the U.A. infirmary was enough of a sign for her to make her final decision. She doesn't want to be tired of fighting against herself anymore. She wants to stop tip-toeing between the pool and just jump right in.
Inko had made her mind up a while ago and decided to stop thinking and just act upon it. Rather, she really wanted to do it. Day by day he sullied her lips and now she wanted to be the one to do so. Inko gave Izuku a chaste kiss as she caressed his sleeping face. Her eyes fervently await for their days to come as she fell asleep embracing her most precious son.
