Curious details from volume 1: (May contain spoilers from other novels.)
01. The real name of the novel was going to be in Japanese and it was going to be "Kenjin no yabō". The reason for not putting it is because people might think that it is a translation of some novel.
02. The name Zelzeus is a mixture of the words "Zel" which has various translations from ancient languages such as Romanian, French, Latin and the origin of all, Proto-Indo-European. Its literal translation is "countless" which at the same time is an antonym to his personality, being a god is a refusal to be part of the heap of gods. While the name "Zeus" is a reference to the supreme god of Greek mythology.
As a bonus, Zeus is an actual god from the universe not shared between the novels "World Ixion/SAGA", "Reincarnated in an Otome game as the ugly character in the background" and "I´m the strongest Cheat Lord in the whole world!".
03. The name of the holy sword "Ixion" is the name of the co-protagonist of the novel "World Ixion/SAGA". But at the same time it is not a reference, it is actually based on the name of the king of Thessaly (Greece) who killed his father-in-law and begged forgiveness from Zeus, invited him for a drink on Olympus and the king wanted to flirt with his wife, ended up in Tartarus, the deepest part of the underworld, and condemned to spin eternally on a wheel, suffering eternal torment for having challenged the gods.
04. The name "Regulus" has different meanings and is one of the most difficult in the writing of the novel. His name has a Latin translation meaning Rex, Regis ("king") plus the diminutive masculine suffix -ulus; initially used to refer to chiefs and ringleaders with pretensions of grandeur, but later came to mean "prince". It is also the name of the constellation Leo which is based on the "Lion of Nemea". As a bonus, it was believed that the incarnate representation of Zeus in antiquity was a lion, because of his majesty and ferocity.
05. Mary's name is of Egyptian origin whose meaning is "Love". Representing her pure feelings.
06. The "Black Rose" in the ancient Roman Empire was used by people of power. Years later it was associated with mourning, so the black rose represents tragedy if you meet them. They also share the similarity of being a 2.0 of the "Black Crows", a criminal organization from the otome novel, both aim to take over something from the shadows, but they share many more things, like the same origin and even the mystery as the revelation of their leader, which is totally unexpected.
07. The name "octopus" that Regulus shouts is actually a Japanese joke that refers to the classic villains of the spy movie era (007), who were always bald and bearded; resembling an octopus face. It became so popular that it became an insult depending on the vocalization.
08. The court ranks are based on the court ranks of the novels Ixion and Re:Otome which are identical.
09. Regulus' personality is a mix between Rudel, Razel and "Reidel", protagonists of their respective works. Regulus contains Rudel's unbridled lust, has Razel's selflessness for key or critical moments, and Reidel's cold way of killing. He is also the author's first protagonist without black hair.
10. Mary has certain similarities in personality and commoner status to Lucy Algrand, one of the heroines of the Ixion novel. While her mother contains a certain resemblance in personality to Elize's mother from Re:Otome.
11. The name of the Avrora Empire is based on the second ship of the Schwert class, Avrora, owned by Rudel(Ixion).
12. Russell is a cross between two characters from the Cheat Lord novel. Bret Elliott and Sieghart Hogan. Being a mix between comedy and excellent swordsmanship. His name is derived from his Japanese phonetic "Rasseru" which is similar to "Razel/Razeru", the protagonist of the otome novel.
13. The character of Regulus is half inspired by "Regulux" capture character from the otome novel. Also, both Zelzeus and Regulus are the author's second duo of protagonists. The first duo are Ichiru and Reidel, from Cheat Lord, the difference between the two is based more on how Ichiru and Reidel are always together even though one of them doesn't appear, while Regulus always thinks of Zelzeus and has his face, when Zelzeus is an almost external character in the story being the central axis that created all the chaos that happens and will happen.
14. Luke's name comes from the character Luke Skywalker, who lives under the shadow of his father, while this Luke doesn't know if he lives or is somewhere inside yet.
15. As mentioned in Zelzeus' past, he was originally from Babylon. So the information given about the Earth no longer existing is meant to indicate that Zelzeus either destroyed the Earth or someone else did.
End of the curiosities of volume 1.
