It was good to be back home, this was how it felt for Axiolypito as he lavishly sat in his throne, his chin resting on his fist as he stared in front of him, his gaze distant.
"Mmh" he made a slight noise, the goblin chief whose had been changed to something most degrading was startled for a moment, wondering what could his liege be so focused about.
His lord had gone for the battlefield of Amor some time ago and come back wearing nothing but rags but somehow looking very satisfied about something, Axio looked very different now, he had another presence entirely, making the needled and enslaved goblin nervous to no ends.
The fact that Axiolypito didn't even use the needle in his nape to stop him from visibly panicking made him even more anxious, feeling like something bad was in preparation.
Axio had refrained from demonstrating his abyssal abilities ever since he had left the ocean below, this was why he had dispelled his dark cloak and crown as soon as possible.
Although he still lacked much firepower, getting his blue blood inside of a wound or somewhere like the eye should still prove a problem from people around here.
But he didn't have any high hopes for it either, the people he was conspiring against were simply too powerful for his Abyss to actually do its job.
Nothing up there used Abyss either, so nothing to suck dry of it.
'Undying Prophet has already bitten the dust, it only leaves five ministers to deal with...' meanwhile, Axio couldn't care less about what was on the goblin's mind, he was already thinking about what he should do about the Obsidian Queen's five closest allies.
He could neither get rid of all five of them at once or be too obvious about it, if the Obsidian Queen learned of his betrayal too quickl whilst she still had some elites to dispatch, Axio was certain to fail in his treacherous endeavor.
The minister whose loss would cripple the queen the most was obviously Faceless Lord, he was singlehandedly responsible for the queen's lightning quick war tactics.
His ability to warp large armies back and forth like it was nothing was enough to make him vital, although this was only an add-on for the queen, her armies were well capable of taking over the continent even without Faceless Lord.
That much was obvious, the numbers alone were enough to stampede all of the nations together, she had full control over the waters, cutting all travels by ship, the winged and flying monsters stopped any sort of travel by air, if that was even a thing employed in Lordlorn.
The point being, she held all of the advantages already, Faceless Lord wouldn't be as big of a hit as it seemed.
Not to mention that without him, the Obsidian Queen wouldn't be able to get to another continent swiftly, if at all.
The lanky monster wasn't the way to go.
The same was true for Sovereign Of Flesh, the slime was constantly pouring out a tide of smaller versions of herself, forming legions of cannon fodders that preserved the true soldiers of the army and served to test the ground before launching assaults.
She remained by the queen's side at all times anyways, she was untouchable, just like Cradled Lich was, not that the lich was actually an enemy he believed could be defeated by him anyways, she was probably just as skilled as the Old Hadal King and wielded death magic, he would be a corpse in no time.
Which was one of the reasons he didn't consider dealing with the queen directly, although, it wasn't actually the main reason.
Next was The Scourge, it was a difficult one, it was in charge of setting doubts and spreading its insidious propaganda to weaken the enemy before even a single confrontation took place.
Taking it out of the picture would most likely lead to the Obsidian Queen facing much fiercer and stronger resistance at earlier stages of her invasions.
This would certainly distract her from whatever Axiolypito would be doing but the seventh minister had no body, Axio couldn't bet on the fact that he would find a way to damage The Scourge soon.
This only left The Condemned, the gigantic wingless dragon, whilst his death wouldn't exactly put the Obsidian Queen in a precarious situation, the way he had of disposing of him would force her to be wary.
"Now isn't the time however" he suddenly blurted out loud with a faint smile, making the goblin standing close-by almost piss himself from fright, he had never seen something so terrifying and wrong-looking as Axiolypito smiling nicely like that.
The Condemned's execution wasn't for now, Axio couldn't just proceed with his grand betrayal without being multiple steps ahead.
One wrong step could spell his death after all.
'Why is it that I can't feel your link any longer?' suddenly, someone spoke in Axio's head, turning around, he was met with Faceless Lord standing right behind him.
"Hello there, what could be this link you speak of?" Axio casually asked.
'The shard of obsidian we all have, did you lose yours when falling down?' the lanky monster tilted his head as he leaned forward, extending his handless arms and bringing the two stumps together, as if he was a hungry child asking for more food.
Space bent for an instant and then, a shard of obsidian, which wasn't any bigger than a needle, appeared atop the end of his arms.
'Here, keep it on your person at all times and don't lose it again' he simply said.
Axio poked at the obsidian before picking it up, it must have been what the queen had planted in his skull.
It seemed like Faceless Lord wasn't privy to the fact that the shard Axio had 'lost' was originally forcefully stabbed in his head and used to control him.
"Say Faceless, why don't we have a little discussion, I realise we never spoke about each other, I feel confident calling you a friend but I really know so little about your past and personality outside of your loyalty to the Obsidian Queen" offered Axiolypito and Faceless Lord didn't seem to see any problem with this.
