“Who?” The human man who served in the chambers of the Council asked me, smacking the gum in his mouth, further annoying me.

“Calista,” Nora answered thankfully. “A human maid who came with Luna Adel.”

“Oh, the meek little thing who doesn’t say much. What the hell do you need with her?”

“None of your business. Where is she?” I demanded, getting in the human male's face.

“In her room. Last one on the left,” The human male said, backing up and throwing his hands up in between us.

Nora tucked me down past the common area in the center of the cabin, rushing us down the narrow hallway lined with similar doors until we landed in front of the last door on the left.

“Do we knock or —?”
