21.56% Cultivating Harem: A Villain's Path to Immortality [18+] / Chapter 44: The Immortal Council Meeting

章節 44: The Immortal Council Meeting

A man with handsome appearance executing a powerful breath was sitting in a golden throne. At a first glance it can be seen that he was a very powerful immortal. He is none other than the supreme ruler of the immortal Lin dynasty, Deity lin. The immortal world is divided into three equally powerful dynasty. Each of the dynasty is ruled by a powerhouse of deity realm. Only those who have proven their Dao can step into this realm. There are only handful of immortals who have stepped into this realm and deity Lin is one of them. He is also one of the strongest among all those are in deity realm. So, everyone respects him. His imperial hall was fill with ministers who has cultivation of at least Immortal emperor realm. Each of them is the supreme ruler of one part of the immortal world. They are below one person and above everyone. They are highly respected. Today they are discussing a very important problem. The Demon Devil Dynasty is invading their border and they demanded ten billion-mortal life as a blood sacrifice to stop their invasion.

One of the immortal emperors stood up and said without any expression, "It is just some mortal life. They are not worth it. Just give them to the demons. It can just save us the trouble to go to war for a trivial matter like this."

"Trivial matter? What if the Demon Devil Dynasty decides to invade again, and the next time, they demand more? Do we just hand over more lives like they're disposable?" another immortal emperor spoke up, clearly not in agreement with the first emperor's stance.

"But we are immortals. These mortal lives are not as valuable as our immortal lives," the first emperor countered, his voice firm and unyielding.

"That may be so, but as the ruling dynasty of the immortal world, it is our duty to protect the weak, regardless of whether they are mortal or not," an old man, who was among the ministers, spoke up with a hint of anger in his voice. "Old Lu" as he was referred to, stood up, his eyes flashing with determination.

"And what if a war starts? The loss will be immense," another minister interjected. "These mortal lives are nothing compared to the lives of immortals."

Old Lu was about to say something, but Deity Lin stopped him with a wave of his hand. "This matter is decided. Tell the soldiers to go and capture some weak or disabled mortals and send them to the demons. We must not go to war this time."

"You all do this because he is dead. But you all forgot what he said before he died," Old Lu spoke with a hint of sadness in his voice. ""Immortals should not decide others' lives are worthless just because they are mortal. This is my bottom line. Never touch it. If anyone does it, even the heavenly Dao can't shelter him from me. I am immortal forever, and I will make them pay with their own lives.""

Everyone in the imperial hall, including Deity Lin, had a look of unease on their faces after hearing Old Lu's words. The last quotation had a blood-curdling and domineering tone, as if Old Lu was warning them of the consequences of their actions.

Everyone in the hall, including Deity Lin, had their faces become ugly and fearful hearing this. They seemed to have remembered the horror of that person. Old Lu's words had made them remember what they had long forgotten.

"Old Lu, I understand your concerns, but this is for the greater good," Deity Lin spoke, trying to calm the old man down. "We must make sacrifices in order to maintain peace and stability in the immortal world."

"Sacrifices?" Old Lu laughed bitterly. "You call ten billion lives a sacrifice? This is not what our founder taught."

Deity Lin's expression darkened; he stood up with an imposing aura that caused everyone to bow their heads. In a domineering voice he said, "I am the supreme ruler of the Lin dynasty, the deity of this realm! I will not tolerate anyone questioning my decisions! The matter is decided, the ten billion mortal lives will be sacrificed!"

The old man's heart was heavy as he stood up and left the hall. The weight of hopelessness settled upon him as he thought about the state of the dynasty and how things had changed. He couldn't help but reflect on the past, when everything was different. If only he were still alive, how different things would be. The old man sighed, feeling the sadness deep within him. It was a heavy burden to bear, knowing that he was powerless to change the situation. He couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if he was still around, still guiding and influencing the dynasty. But now, all he could do was watch from the sidelines, a mere observer to the decisions made by those in power.
