In the middle of a field filled with Dagger Moles and gu masters alike, one man was singing:

Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day」
His singing was like that of a crazed madman, going through the motions.
A gu master, whose hands were shaking, as he watched the onslaught of beast kings being cut down like butter, asked, "He's our ally, right?"

"GCGAGABBATB... a 99 percent of dormant gene activation, with a reduction of 80 percent plasma and an increase of 9153 electrons," mutters Xie Ling, as he pinches his forehead with frustration evident on his face.

Bursting forth from the ground a thousand beast king aimed its claws for his throat. However, when only a few inches away from its target, it felt a large force on its skull.
「Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away」
Xie Ling lifts his polearm off the mole's crushed skull, before pulling it back and pushing it two meters into the ground, crushing another thousand beast king.

Behind Xie Ling stood a large filled glass tube, a Dagger Mole floating inside, and an information board under it:
Dagger Moles, are known for their destructive claws, surprise attacks, and invasive nature. Overly consuming any environment they inhabit, before then migrating to the next source of food, where they'll repeat the process over again.
"GCGAGABBQᵉAT... a 97% activation, 61% reduction, 7344 electrons."

In the distance, a large explosion sets off, sending shock waves throughout the entire battlefield.
「So won't you please say hello

As Xie Ling continues to sing, the head of a myriad beast king splats on the ground next to his feet, fear still visible in the beast's eyes.

In front of Xie Ling, chained to the wall, hanged a dying Scheming Minx. And in his hands, rested a notebook:
Scheming Minxes, are known for their unique foresight, giving them the ability to sense killing intent, before their attacker even has it.
"GCGAGABBQᵉAᵗT... a 95% activation, 54% reduction, 7108 electrons."
"GCG1ᵃGABBQᵉAᵗT... a 96% activation, 45% reduction, 6879 electrons."

Then suddenly a roar, reverberates through the air, catching the attention of all the gu masters.
"That could only have come from the beast emperor!" shouts one of the investigation team members, as his train of thought is broken by more singing.
「They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song」
"Is that singing, what is the boss doing?" shouts the leader of the bait team, as he leads the beast emperor.
A voice then reaches his ears, "Relax, soldier. We continue as planned." it was Xie Ling's voice, inducing a calming and authoritative presence to it.
Around, him laid the heads of four myriad beast kings, each filled with expressions of fear and pain.

"ᵠGʷͣͬʲdᶻͩᵍGˢͪᶠ1ᵍͯʲWᵏͮᶻQᵇͤᶰBᵠͬQͭAͧTͥ... a 99% activation, 12% reduction, 9456 electrons."
"ᵠ̶͓̑q̷̰̒ʷ̸̸̲ͬ͋̚ͅʲ̵̙̽w̶͓̾ᶻ̶̳͗ᵍ̴͍͒r̵̗̄ˢ̶͓̓ᶠ̵̯͐ĵ̶̩ᵍ̶͉̐ʲ̵̻͒ź̷͙ᵏ̸͚̍ᶻ̴̰̈g̴̙͒ᵇ̵͇́ᶰ̸̺͋š̸̟ᵠ̵̜͒f̴̲̀g̶͙̀j̶̬̓k̴̜̇ẑ̷̩b̴̼͘n̶̻͛q̸̼̕... a 100% activation, 0% reduction, 1364 electrons. Complete Success." Xie Ling states, nodding his head with a hint of satisfaction, as he looked into the eyes of a Scheming Minx with no fight left in them.

Just as the bait team leader is about to complain about it being hot on their tail, he sees teeth surrounding him from his sides, "so this is the end" he mutters. When suddenly a spear flies through the air, headed for one of the mole's eyes.
Noticing this the mole pulls back its head, the spear narrowly missing its eyes, and instead bounces off its thick hide.

The bait team leader touches his chest, his heart beating at a rapid pace. "I'm alive," he mutters in amazement.
Looking around, he sees the exact same thing playing out for the other gu masters, each only mere inches away from death, when suddenly something: a spear, a sword, or an explosion, saves them from the clutches of death.
The beast emperor also notices this as it witnesses its kin being slaughtered left and right. And off in the distance, stood the four heads of its top henchmen, and one man, covered in their blood whilst singing. As its eyes locked on the man, an intense rage filled them.

Looking deep into the eyes of the Scheming Minx, Xie Ling infuses his will into the beast's eyes and comments, "Oh, what an interesting awakened ability, not only can it preemptively sense killing intent, know it will also know the exact location it will spawn in."
Using Note Gu, he ponders, "Well, now I have the means of creating an awakened information and transformation path Gu. I wonder which I should pick next: defense, attack, endurance, or speed. Or perhaps I should switch to Awakening Syrum instead of Buster Syrum." He quickly shook his head. "That would likely create a beast that even I can't deal with."

Xie Ling jumps back, as claws pass by his face.
Correcting its direction, the beast emperor turns to Xie Ling when suddenly the ground beneath its feet breaks apart in an explosion.
「Don't know where]
"This confirms the data on the mole not possessing any information path Gu, however, somethings still bugging me," mutters Xie Ling, swinging his polearm for its skull, forcing it to defend itself with its arm. And, just as its palm reaches to protect it from the polearm, a spear flies from the blind spot originally blocked by the palm, striking it in the eye. "Why can't I find any Gu on it?"
A large screech reverberates through the area, as it tries to find Xie Ling when another spear flies for its other eye. Trying to block the attack, the mole realized something, before quickly tucking in its body, and using the tail to start spinning mid-air.
"Tch, the creatures on this planet are smart." comments Xie Ling as his polearm was about to stretch for its other eye, "However, not smart enough!"
The ground beneath the Dagger Mole opens up revealing a huge chasm, however, due to having tucked itself in, it was left unaware.
「Don't know when]
"Alright men, the hole is opening up! Just like the boss said, the moment the Dagger Mole Beast Emperor is visible, use your Paralysis Gu!"
「But I know we'll meet again some sunny daaaaaaay]
The aura of a rank-5 Gu emanated from the Dagger Mole, starting from its left foot and quickly crawling up from there, daggers grew along its flesh. Before suddenly coming to a stop at its head, and regressing back to the palm of its foot.
"I was wondering why I couldn't sense any Gu on it, the Gu was hiding inside one of its claws, like a wall bouncing radar waves away, or an aperture, not allowing the will of anyone else inside it." Comments Xie Ling, as the rank-5 Gu flies away from the Dagger Mole into the palm of his hand.
As he held the Gu in his hand, Xie Ling's Scheming Minx Eyes, sent warnings throughout his entire body, and just as suddenly he took a step to the side when a blinding light passed by him, and even without touching, destroyed his hand.
Pain rushed through his body, like a tidal wave, his every nerve, screaming to him, that he was about to die.
