She barely moved. I had heard of some cultures having something called a vigil. It was said they would stay in the same area and mourn for their dead. The lack of movement in my mate made me believe she was dead. If someone got within a certain distance of the eggs she would open her eyes and look at them but for ten straight hours she was still and unmoving. It was a stark contrast to the rush of movement that had happened when she had opened the crates. To see someone who I had only known as active be so still was unsettling. Even more so since she was so quiet.
