章節 10: BREAKTHROUGH : BASIC LEVEL RANK 1 CULTIVATOR
Rhys woke up and stretched his arms and legs lazily, he got up from the bed and walked to his wardrobe. Suddenly he heard some strange noises coming from outside. The noise was similar to someone screaming or crying. He immediately ran outside and saw his Mom lying on her bed,grunting.
Her face was pale and her perspiration had soaked her pillow. She looked very weak and her eyes were blood shot.
Rhys rushed to her and shook her shoulders lightly hoping she'd wake up. Her eyes opened and met Rhys' who was kneeling next to her.
"Mom?" he called softly.
His mom lifted her head and stared at him in confusion. She rubbed her eyes and groaned in pain. "Rhys..."
"Don't talk mom,wait here " He ran into his room and reached out for his small bag.
He retrieved the blue herb and rushed back to his frail mother.
"Here, eat this. You need to drink lots of water too" He handed her the medicine.
She took the herb and consumed with along with a full bottle of water. Her face turned red and she closed her eyes in discomfort. She felt like everything in her body was being burned and cut into pieces by thousands of knives.
"Mom" He called as he noticed tears running down her cheeks,she was shaking violently.
"Mm hmm.." she murmured in pain,the pain slowly lessening in front of his eyes. She opened her eyes and looked around.
"Rhys...I want to rest" . She pleaded with a smile of content.
"Good job ,Sonny" Alvin praised.
"Thanks to you...Master" Rhys replied nervously.
"No need to call me Master, just call me Alvin"
[CONGRATULATIONS ON HEALING YOUR MOTHER]
The black and white screen popped up ,once again.

Rhys smiled happily and grabbed his Mother's hand to hold it tightly.
"You did well" Alvin added in awe and excitement.
Rhys' heart raced with excitement and happiness.
"Mom...you finally got better..I'm so relieved "he whispered in relief.
"You really did great, kid,Now let's breakthrough shall we?" Alvin suggested.
"Let's..let's do it"
"Very well,then let's begin " Alvin announced.
"So how do I...erhh... bring out the pills?" Rhys asked.
"Just ask Hulu or whatever it's name is "
"Erhh ...Hulu?System?" Rhys called out.
[JUST THINK ABOUT ME WHEN YOU NEED ME ,NO NEED TO USE AWKWARD MEANS. JUST THINK OF ME NEXT TIME]
"Okay,Hulu"
[ALRIGHT . WAIT FOR A SEC...AND DONE! OPEN YOUR HANDS]
The pills had mysteriously appeared in Rhys' palm . It was safe to say he was beyond shocked. Alvin was marveled at the system's powers too.
"Maybe I will have to merge with it" he remarked internally.
"So...Alvin,how do I start?" Rhys questioned.
"The white pill is the Basic Level 1 Breakthrough Pill, take that first, concentrate on pushing through. The pill will aid you,its part of it's properties ". Alvin explained.
Rhys closed his eyes and concentrated on pushing through the barrier separating them from the Cultivation realm.
It was extremely difficult.
The barriers weren't like those that the Cultivators created. They weren't physical,they were spiritual. It felt strange.
He could see the wall. He could feel the barrier. But it was different,it wasn't tangible and solid. It was more like a thin layer of mist.
It was hard to push through. He tried to push through but it was no use. He couldn't break through.
"Try harder,Sonny" Alvin encouraged.
"I'm trying" Rhys replied.
He tried again and again but nothing happened.
"Keep trying" Alvin encouraged again.
"Yeah" Rhys agreed.
The barrier didn't give up and neither did Rhys. He continued pushing and pushed and pushing.
Then suddenly he sensed something happening in front of him. Something seemed to be flowing through the barrier. As it flowed through the barrier , it went straight into his body.
A warm feeling spread in every pore of his body.
It was pleasant.
It was soothing.
Rhys felt himself relaxing,as if his body was melting,as his bones grew smaller and eventually disappeared.
His breathing quickened as everything became dark. He felt as if he was floating in the sky. Every fibre of his being was renewed and rejuvenated.
Then the light returned,it filled every crevice of his soul,every cell in his body. The pain began to subside,his senses returned.
He felt free,stronger and more alive than he'd ever been in his whole life. All thoughts fled from his mind as all energy was focused on him.
Everything around him changed into pure white as if nothing existed except for him and whatever he was doing. Everything seemed to go silent and peaceful.
The only thing remaining was him and the world around him,all other things disappeared.
After about an hour of pure silence,everything started to come back to normal but everything remained unchanged. There was no sound,no sight,not even a whisper in any direction.
All his senses returned to him.
The pain he felt when trying to breach the barrier completely disappeared. So far everything was proceeding smoothly.
Rhys stood up and walked around,inspecting his body. He knew and could feel the changes. He had stepped into the realm of Cultivation!
