章節 58: Buckingham has Fallen
A few hours passed and Catherine finally got the news that her daughter The Princess had arrived together with his majesty Pluto.
Yang Chen's identity was widely known across all of Europe by most politicians and military groups. The identity of the twelve gods was confidential, but he was one of the most publicly acknowledged ones due to not staying low-key and even commanding an elite group like 'Zero'.
It was also popular knowledge among the nobles, that he was the one that helped her ascend to the throne by killing all other candidates.
His domineering presence served as the foundation of the Rothschild family.
Rather than receive them in her chambers, she preferred to do so in the throne room, so she waited for them there for a few minutes until she saw them enter the gigantic main door, accompanied by an entourage of guards.
Upon seeing her daughter, Catherine flashed the brightest of smiles, she really was her pride.
An internationally recognised Genius nonetheless!
Jane also smiled in relief when she saw her mother, she was a beautiful girl with short auburn-haired a refined white one-piece dress.
Beside her stood a man in a tuxedo, his hair dark and complexion clearly Asian.
The moment Yang Chen saw Catherine he was left breathless.
She sat on her throne, like a Queen with clothes that further portrayed her as so, it might have been his imagination... But she seemed younger now than before. And she was even wearing red-pinkish contact lenses, a shaking change...
It had been years since he saw her last.
He couldn't help but lick his lips in anticipation.
Alas, something would happen today, but not what he expected.
"Mother..." Jane bowed, noticing her mother was not receiving her as her mother but as the Queen, therefore she needed to show her regard.
Yang Chen however stood there with his eyes fixed on Catherine.
Catherine could feel his gaze roaming her body and it made her so uncomfortable.
'Resist, resist...'
"My daughter, you have not visited your mother in so long... Do you finally remember you have a mother?" She smiled brightly and addressed her daughter before turning to the troublemaker.
Beside him stood a man that she recognised as Sauron, Yang Chen's right hand in the 'Zero' organisation, and the one that usually managed everything in his stead.
"Yang Chen, it's been a long time, I hope you have been doing well, where have you been?" She used the most cordial smile she could and addressed him as well.
Her polite and somehow cliche argument almost made Yang Chen smile wearily, 'What's going on?'
She was always so over him, that now that she wasn't, it felt weird... Especially since what he wanted to do the most now was hug her ravenous body...
"I have been well Catherine, got a bit of a beating recently, but everything's alright now. I moved to the outskirts of China recently, a metropolis called Zhonghai." He answered simply.
That answer made Catherine's face visibly contort!
'Zhonghai?! Isn't that the place where my dear currently resides!? how could this happen!?' she was beginning to hyperventilate.
Jane saw her reaction and frowned a little. "Is there something wrong, Mother? We came because you have been acting weird, and also because of that event that happened the last time where someone sneaked inside your room, killing the guards and leaving no corpses... We believe to have a hunch of who could it be." The same thing has been happening in many regions of China, it wasn't hard to connect the modus operandi, but that didn't mean it was necessarily the same person.
"I have been okay, it's better if we discuss everything over dinner, tell me Jane dear, what have you been up to~" Catherine decided to forget that matter for the time being.
She stood up and walked towards her daughter eventually giving her a hug but this once again surprised them, she would usually go to Yang Chen first.
It's as if she's evading him.
Yang Chen furrowed his brows and closed the distance only for Catherine to hurriedly take Jane's hand and lead them to the dining room, there were still many hours to go until evening!

Sauron left the Palace and was stationed outside together with three squads of corps he brought from 'Zero'. Yang Chen had said that Sandstorm had been quite active ever since he was in America and didn't want to be caught red-handed.
The trio sat in the massive dining room with Jane telling her mother about her research on how to help Yang Chen with his illness, as well as the university she was currently imparting classes on, her inventions and so on.
Yang Chen told her about his mutton skewer-selling stall, making them laugh and then told them about Rose, even mentioning the air waitress he met on their flight here, An Xin was her name?
Catherine thought that Yang Chen truly never changed, but she couldn't judge him, she knew her Alucard probably had many women hidden from her as well... How many however, she didn't know, but she would! Alcina obviously didn't count as the three of them were now destined to be together even if she didn't agree... The two were his draculines.
They ate for an hour and talked about a lot of things until the unavoidable came into Jane's mouth firsthand.
"Mother, why are you being so distant with Yang Chen?" Jane ate some risotto with prudence and asked what had been marring her mind for the last hour.
Yang Chen, who sat beside her also perked upon hearing the question. As much as he wanted to fondle Catherine up... He wasn't a rapist, she had been keeping her distance for some reason, and he wanted to know... Hopefully, it wouldn't be what he thought.
Catherine knew it was time for the main dish, and she didn't mean food. The conversation she had been avoiding due to apprehension must take place.
She regally cleaned her pretty mouth, slanting Yang Chen's desire and her expression turned serious.
The former had been feeling uncomfortable for as long as the dinner started, not only was Catherine's attitude foreign, but he also felt someone was boring a hole through his body with a gaze, but he couldn't detect anyone... Moreover, the feeling was a little relatable. As if he felt this before somewhere else.
Leaving her handkerchief Catherine spoke with seriousness, "Yang Chen, what do you think about Jane?"
Her words took the two of them by surprise.
"Eh? What do you mean?" Asked the man with bewilderment at her sudden interrogation.
"I say, do you love Jane as a woman? Yes or not?" She asked once again not planning to drag this out further! And even Jane paid attention to his answer, maybe this was the moment?!
This left Yang Chen in a troubled position, there was no going back or place to escape if he rejected to talk it would hurt Jane, but if he said he did who knows what might happen next? He didn't love Jane... He still saw her as his daughter, little sister at most...
"I don't know Catherine, it's complicated, I have technically seen her grow." His words hurt Jane a little, she had been awaiting a positive answer but at least he said he didn't know, he didn't absolutely reject!
Those were this naive girl's thoughts...
"Why are you asking this now Catherine? It has nothing to do with your cold attitude, did you forget our deal?" He wanted to know the purpose of her attitude and her question, this time he asked with a commanding tone. Even if he didn't act like it, she was still his...
Catherine sighed a deep breath before continuing, "Yang Chen, I'm no longer able to continue with our deal... Therefore, I'd like to betroth Jane to you. Allow her to take my place in the deal as she loves you in a way I can't. I believe she would be better than me."
Her words were like an atomic bomb that blew the two of them, Jane already knew about her mother loving someone else... But she hadn't told Yang Chen yet as she believed it wasn't her place to say. But the part about her exchanging places with her mom... That she didn't know about.
Jale blushed marginally and flashed Yang Chen a glance, awaiting his response.
Catherine felt like a ton left her shoulders the moment she said it, under normal circumstances she would never exchange her place with her daughter, as her daughter would technically belong to Yang Chen, but it was as clear as daylight that her daughter loved Yang Chen, and the later also wouldn't treat her as a slave.
So she believed it was a great deal!
Her words, however, stunned the pair, especially Yang Chen who stood up abruptly giving her a deeply frowned glance, "Catherine, what the hell is the meaning of this!?"
Jane on her part, couldn't be happier with this outcome.
How could she not be aware of her mother and Yang Chen's 'secret' relationship? This deal was the best outcome for her!
"As I said Yang Chen; I'm no longer able to continue our deal, but the Rothschild family and our resources will always be on your disposition, it's just... I can no longer belong to you... I love someone else."
A heavy aura left Yang Chen's body at that moment!
She had found someone, she had been cheating on him with someone!
"Are you cheating on me, Catherine!? You're mine!" His aura became heavier as his anger increased!
But the hole boring itself into his chest was almost palpable as if he was being impaled at that very moment!
Catherine, being subjected to the pressure, surprisingly didn't feel anything!
"I'm not cheating on you Yang Chen, we aren't anything, I'm not asking you a question! I'm telling you that I no longer belong to you, but you still have my gratitude and admiration for everything you have done for me and my daughter, and if you ever have a request we will not spare efforts to accomplish it!" She explained herself as detailed as possible, not leaving any leeway and wording it the best she could.
But sweat ran down her forehead as she tried to suppress her emotions... Something was telling her! maybe her new vampiric instincts!
He is here watching them!
"Tell me who is it! I'll kill that bastard!" Yang Chen was having none of it, he still considered Catherine his woman, the thought of someone having his way with her repulsed him but also made him feel like a fool!
A cuckolded fool!
"That's none of your business, Yang Chen! I'd really rather we keep a friendly relationship, you will be my son-in-law!" She was also starting to get angry due to his unreasonable behaviour and stood up, her eyes turning red!
*BOOM!!*
"AGHW!!!!!"
"UGHAAAA!!!!"
Just as the atmosphere was about to go atomic, the main door of the hall burst apart and a bloody man was thrown in front of them together with two more!
'Alucard!?' Catherine thought Alucard finally couldn't contain himself and made an appearance, her heart constricting inside just at the thought!
Yang Chen turned around and saw Sauron, his right hand turned into a bloody mess, the likelihood of him being alive was low just with his appearance.
His eyes furrowed heavily upon feeling a familiar aura!
"Hades, it's so nice for you to come and bring me the God Stone yourself... You saved me the effort of going all the way to China for you." A man with a warrior outfit appeared right in front of them, his hair crimson as his eyes shone like fire!
Behind him a group of armed forces entered the room hurriedly, they all wore sand-like commando camouflage suits with skull masks, knives and silenced marksmanship.
Dozens of men they were, leaving behind the corpses of the royal guards, the enhanced security Jane had left for her mother and even the group of Zero corps!
Some of them even played with their heads as if they were balls!
How could they possibly clean all those guards without causing enough noise for them to notice!?
Yang Chen frowned sensing their auras, Xiantian cultivators, medium stage.
'This is his bastard's number one squad surely...' He thought, but Catherine's matter still weighed heavily on his head!
His eyes met the crimson-haired man's who snickered upon looking at him.
The people shouted in fear outside of the palace and madness ensued all about as the police sirens advised every person in the vicinity, that the inadmissible just took place...
