The murder of the woman and her baby send ripples through the village, and a party of men set out to hunt the killer down and to deliver their own brand of justice as his knife, found at the scene of the killing is known to them, but the owner of the blade is nowhere to be found in the village.

All the young women in the village set about gathering wood and rocks in preparation for the coming punishment that will be meted out to the accused, who will be tied to a stake in the middle of the village, and be stoned by the villagers and then burnt to death, and only then will the murdered woman’s spirit be set free to leave the earthly realm.

While the preparations for the death sentence are being carried out, the elders of the woman prepare the murdered woman and babies bodies for burial, but this can only take place once the crime has been punished, only then will they be at rest for their lives had been stolen from them.
