章節 74: Chapter 74: "The Playful Playboy and the Cursed Savior"

Unfortunately, Draco's ideal gentleman seemed to be in some trouble. "What's wrong, Savior? Are you going to wreak havoc in Diagon Alley and avenge your good friend?" Draco asked the black-haired boy in front of him. The lightning-shaped scar on the boy's forehead indicated his identity. Both of them had grown taller over the past half holiday, but there had not been much change otherwise.

On the spacious street, Harry blocked Draco's path and stared at him cautiously, fearing that he would make a move. He then calmly said, "You have received the punishment you deserve and paid the price for it. And it seems that I can't beat you," Harry added weakly. "But," he continued, looking at Draco with determined eyes and clenching his holly wand, "if you have any other schemes, I will do my best to stop you."

"For example?" This time, Draco was really a little helpless. He felt that he had been shot while lying down. "Why did you use a fake name in Florin's ice cream shop just now?" Harry asked.

"Oh, so even the famous Harry Potter likes to eavesdrop on other people's conversations?" Draco responded, deliberately not looking at Harry and fiddling with his wand instead. His concentrated look made Harry feel a trace of contempt.

"I just..." Harry was about to explain that he was writing a thesis on medieval witches in his shop and the shop owner occasionally gave him guidance. The shop owner's knowledge in this area was said to be more than Professor Binns', and there was a free cold drink every half hour.

But Harry's words were interrupted by Draco. "You want to explain? When have you ever seen a playboy who leaves trouble for himself?" Draco asked, then looked at Harry indifferently and said, "I think our savior should think about how to save his own life. I heard that Black broke out of prison because of you." Draco was clearly trying to intimidate Harry. In fact, Draco wasn't wrong, but no one would see it that way.

Yes, Harry had risked his life to watch a football game for his godson, and when the broom broke, he had even sent a new crossbow bolt over. "Besides, would someone who boasts about attacking their aunt still dare to cast magic outside the school?" Draco glanced at the wand in Harry's hand. "I believe that even the Ministry of Magic wouldn't allow you to behave like this again and again in order to ensure your safety," he added provocatively, as if he was trying to provoke Harry into making a move.

Harry remembered that even Draco, who was standing in front of him, had had his wand confiscated for casting spells outside the school. He couldn't help but hesitate.

Previously, at least he still had his wand, which was why he had the courage to run away from home. This was his last resort. He couldn't imagine what would happen if he was really fired and his wand was confiscated. Fudge had told him in the Broken Cauldron that the reason he didn't hold it against him was because Black had escaped from prison. He had chosen the lesser of two evils by letting him off the hook.

Now, the insufficient evidence and serious consequences made Harry even more hesitant. Yes, what was the big deal about giving a fake name? I even pretended to be Neville before, Harry suddenly remembered. He had been afraid of being recognized and had given a fake name on the Knight's Bus. So, was he also a suspect?

Harry increasingly felt that he had made a wrong decision in the heat of the moment. Even if Draco was really plotting something, wouldn't he have alerted the enemy by jumping out like this? Harry felt that he might have been suppressed for too long in the past few days and had done something impulsive.

"I'm sorry," Harry said apologetically as he prepared to leave. But when he walked past Draco on his way to the Broken Cauldron, he still said in a low voice, "Even if you don't tell that girl your name, the playboy will get into trouble sooner or later." With that, Harry left a curse that was not a curse. Draco naturally didn't care.

He was not the kind of liar who played with the feelings of a girl. This was just an answer to brush up a bad impression in front of someone. But the two of them would never have thought that the latter part of this sentence would become a prophecy years later.

After sending off a certain main character with a strong sense of justice, Draco remembered that he still had something to do. He sprinted back to Gringotts, but the doors were tightly shut. It was cold and cheerless, without the bustling scene from before. Only a few Ministry of Magic officials were on duty.

"Uncle Fudge left a folder in the office. He asked me to retrieve it for him," Draco politely said to a tall and thin man in a trench coat who still had some stubble. The rest of the people on duty glanced at each other and felt a little awkward. But this slight awkwardness was quickly dismissed by a few packs of so-called special muggle cigarettes.

It only took a few minutes for Draco to enter and leave the office. When he came out, he saw that the few people on duty had already started smoking.

"No lighter?" asked Draco . "A slightly weaker flame would be enough."

"Thank you, uncle," Draco said as he left, not forgetting to thank the officials.

"A small matter," the tall and thin man in the trench coat said as he took a puff of his cigarette and slowly blew out a few thin smoke rings. "Be careful, young master Draco."

"Mm," Draco nodded and walked towards the nearest Floo powder station without looking back. He thought to himself, "Successful bribery on the street, sloppy Ministry of Magic official on duty, meeting the patient Voldemort and the fanatic cult members. Who will win?" It was a question with an obvious answer.

Walking into a shop that provided Floo powder service, Draco sprinkled a handful of Floo powder into the fireplace. A green flame sprang up. After stating his destination clearly, Draco took a deep breath and stepped into the flame. Following that, an invisible force surged towards him, tearing his body apart. He felt the world begin to spin. Even if he closed his eyes, he could not stop the nausea and dizziness from assaulting him.

"Good thing I didn't eat too much just now," Draco thought to himself. He was now in the downtown area of Muggle, a hidden hub between wizards and Muggle society.

On the surface, it was a small hardware store. A burly, middle-aged man with a full beard was working on a wrench at the counter. No one would think that he was a wizard at first glance. The counter was filled with all kinds of wrenches, screws, and spare parts. The heavy smell of paint and plastic filled the entire store, making Draco cover his nose and mouth unconsciously.

The man's muscular upper body was exposed, and his left arm was tattooed with an unknown animal. At first glance, he looked like a member of some muggle underworld organization, but the magic wand on his back revealed his identity as a wizard.

Draco approached him. The man seemed to sense him and looked up. "Young man, there's nothing here that interests wizards," he said.

"I thought so," Draco said as he knocked on the glass counter, producing a crisp sound. "Actually, I just want to know which fruit store is closer."

"I think I can help you with that," the man said with a kind smile that contrasted with his image, expressing his goodwill.
