章節 14: Chapter 14: Try to be Normal

Desmond blinked awake and shifted where he had been sitting on Atlas’ couch. Beside him, his phone sat flashing the time and the reminder for the alarm. He picked it up from where it waited and dismissed the alarm and turned to look out the window.

The sun outside was casting its usual orange and golden haze across the sky, similar to how the sky always looked in The Echo. He turned in his seat then, to look towards the apartment door. Just moments ago, Mykel had been standing there and now they were a world apart.

“Everything okay?” Atlas’ words made Desmond jump in his seat.

Despite being in his apartment, he had nearly forgotten he was there. It had surprised him whenever his voice reached him. So when he looked over to the blonde, Desmond could only give him a sheepish smile. It felt silly to forget where he was and even more silly to have his mind so flooded with a man who only showed disdain towards him. Yet there he sat, worrying about Mykel.
