章節 19: Chapter 19: The Standoff

Grayson sits in his car for a few minutes. He really would rather not go inside, but it was his only other option other than staying inside his room. Between being left alone with his own brain, stewing in every negative emotion imaginable, and going inside The Moonlight Roadhouse… he didn’t have much of a choice.

Grayson was pretty sure that if he spent another minute alone with himself he might lose it, so the bar it is. As soon as he can feel his legs again.

Eventually, he does make it to the doors. He steps in hesitantly, wondering if Amelia would just…have magically forgotten overnight.

Except Amelia is sitting at the bar, watching him walk in.

Grayson feels an apology burning the back of his throat but holds it back. He'd never…yelled at someone like that before. Most of the fighting he had done involved fists with people who deserved it. Amelia wasn't that. She said what she did in a genuine attempt to help both her brother and Grayson, not to hurt his feelings.
