章節 119: Talking over the phone

Alex who had just won the bet against his father did not show the expression of a winner, in fact, he as usual had the same facial expression as ever, but inside his mind, it was a whole other matter. 

'Why am I thinking about Alisa right now?... Maybe I'm worried about if she got home safely. I guess that must be it, even though she does have those three B-rank mercs one of which was strong enough to contend with A-rank mercs, and I do have a whole surveillance team watching her by shifts... Still...' 

The more he thought about it the more it felt like he was making an excuse, and the more frustrating part was he truly did not understand why he was doing that. The more he tried to convince himself the more he felt restless. 

'The mission was to protect her, that was the main thing, but getting close to the target was this truly the right choice?'
