章節 11: Don't you know who I am?

The leader of the group of delinquents harassing the girl was the vice leader of a group within a high school full of delinquents, his name was Agell. In the school, he and the others were from it was the rule of the jungle the rule of the strong. Ryuuga Academy also known as the garbage dump, was a place where all the worst students in the region are gathered.

Agell saw that Alex was trained in martial arts, and frowned when he saw his followers surrendering to the other party. Agell with agile movements arrived behind the two who were surrendering and kicked them both.

"You f*ckers who told you guys to surrender?"

Alex frowned seeing Agell's behavior, he had seen many people but none of them acted this way. In the world of mercenaries, those who abandoned or harmed their comrades were scum that would never be able to survive on the battlefield. Agell looked at the expressionless Alex with a smirk on his face.

"You b*stard must think that you're tough sh*t after beating some lackeys. Unlike them, I'm not some pushover."

Agell got into a fighting stance. Alex quickly noticed that Agell's stance was that of a taekwondo practitioner. Without any warning, Agell came dashing towards Alex and performed a few kicks which were easily dodged by sidesteps and swaying his body.

"You f*cking rat are you just going to dodge?!"

After shouting those words Agell performed a roundhouse kick and at that exact time, Alex ducked and performed a sweeping kick. Agell was about to fall to the side when he saw Alex was about to kick him Agell quickly defended himself, but even blocking the kick Agell received a lot of damage.

Alex was quite surprised that Agell was able to block his attack, even though he wasn't using his full strength with that timing it would've been hard to react.

"I see, you have some skill."

Agell who had backed away wanted to say something but held himself back, he was not able to touch Alex despite going all out.

"Who are you people?"

"So are you finally willing to listen?" Seeing that they stopped fighting Oliver stepped forward and spoke.

"... Wait a minute I know you, you're the guy who has been messing around with all the other schools who come into this area. You're the so-called bloody demon, Oliver."

When Oliver heard his nickname used by the delinquents he almost burst out in excitement as the name was so cool in his ears. Still, Oliver was able to hold back his glee as he remained with a neutral expression.

"Is that what you young who diverted from the path call me."

"Huh, young, diverted from the path? What the f*ck are you talking about? Anyway, you and your friend don't know what you have done. Now that you mess with us the entire first year of Ryuuga will come down on you f*ckers."

"Why do we need to fight, can't we just talk this out?"

"Why do we need to talk to you? In the first place, you shouldn't have messed with us."

Seeing that the other party really didn't want to listen, Oliver sighed before he started speaking again.

"It seems like you're not yet in a mood to listen."

When Oliver said those words Alex was about ready to teach the other party a harsher lesson so that he would listen, but Oliver stopped him.

"Fine, there's no honor to be found in fighting an already injured opponent. You can go and bring your fallen friends with you."

"You think I'm bringing these losers with me? They ain't no friends of mine they just some pieces of trash that can be thrown out at any time. Also, why are you saying I'm going to run away?! I'm Agell of Ryuuga Academy, I won't f*cking run from a fight."

"I see... Then will be the ones leaving."

Oliver passed by the kneeling Agell and right behind him was Alex who also no longer bothered looking at Agell.

"Hey, where the f*ck are you two going?!"

Oliver and Alex no longer bothered with Agell and ignored him directly which just made Agell shout even more, but Oliver and Alex treated him like he did not exist. It was at that moment that Agell once again charged at the two, Alex looked at Oliver and saw that he wasn't going to stop him so Alex did a backward kick knocking Agell out. Once Agell had fainted Oliver then approached the young lady who was being harassed.

"Are you alright?"

The young lady who was still stunned by the sudden turn of events took some time to calm herself down before she was able to respond.

"Thank you guys for helping me." The young lady who was wearing things that were hiding her face bowed her head.

"It's no problem, but if I can ask what are you doing around this area at this time of night?" Oliver could not help but ask.

"... I just wanted to get some fresh air and go to a nearby convenience store but I got lost and those guys started pestering me."

"I see... Do you want us to escort you to the convenience store?"

"No need, you have done enough. I have already contacted someone to pick me up. Oh speak of the devil here he is."

Oliver and Alex looked at where the young lady was pointing and saw a man wearing a suit and glasses.

"Miss, are you alright?"

"Yes, thanks to these two."

The man in a suit looked at Oliver and Alex from head to toe and a smile appeared on his face before bowing his head.

"Thank you."

"No problem we just did what we needed to do, nothing more, nothing less." Oliver was feeling a little happy as he was being praised and he was able to say some cool lines.

"If you need anything just tell me, here I'm going to give you guys my number." The young lady took a pen and paper and wrote her number as he handed it to Oliver and Alex.

"There's no need for that we just did what was right," Oliver answered in his usual theatrical way and rejected taking the number.

"I don't really need anything from you, so I don't really need your number." Alex as per usual answered exactly with what was truly in his mind and with that same stoic expression of his.

When the lady heard Oliver's answer she was simply nodding her head as she expected that kind of response, but then when she heard Alex's answer the lady felt a little humiliated so she removed her mask and showed her true face. As was expected she was truly a beauty.

"How about now, are you still going to say you don't need anything." The lady showed a confident smile after she spoke, but the reaction she was expecting did not come.

Oliver looked at her confused as to why she showing her face would change his answer, as for Alex his facial expression almost never changes.

"Huh, don't you two know who I am?"

"I'm sorry Miss, but you haven't introduced yourself so how should we know who you are?" Oliver asked still looking confused. When the lady heard Oliver's question she was truly shocked.

"Do you guys really not know? I'm Alisa Reinhardt."

"Is that so," the very second Alisa heard those words she thought that Oliver finally recognized her, but then he continued. "Right, we also forgot to introduce ourselves."

"I'm called James Bourne, but the people here call me Oliver." Once Oliver was done introducing himself he looked at Alex and sighed inwardly before speaking.

"I'm Alexander Samarita."

After hearing their different styles of introductions Alisa was still quite surprised that the two did not know her at all. This truth stunned her for a few seconds before smiling and then giggling.

"I see, you two really don't know who I am. Alright then, even though you two don't want to accept any kind of reward, at least allow me to exchange numbers with my saviors so that I can somehow repay you in my own way."

Oliver hesitated for a bit but after Alisa pushed a few more times he reluctantly agreed and exchanged numbers with her, but when it came to Alex it was harder as he answered.

"There's no reason for us to exchange numbers."

Still, after a longer time of persuasion with the help of Oliver, Alex also relented and exchanged numbers with Alisa.

章節 12: Today's events

After the meeting with Alisa, Alex and Oliver continued their patrol, but nothing else surprising happened. Once they were finished with the patrol Oliver and Alex parted ways and headed home.

Alex after returning home, headed straight to his dad's study. The moment he entered Alex saw that his dad was talking on the phone. When Carlo spotted Alex he ended the call immediately.

"Alex, report everything regarding today's events."

"Sir, Yes, Sir!" Alex saluted and recounted today's events. Starting from his meeting with Oliver to his patrol with the other party.

When Carlo heard Alex's report he was silent for a moment. It seems that even as a student there were many other factors that his son had to deal with, there were of course those bullies from that infamous school nicknamed the garbage dump.

Still, what worried him, even more, was the so-called Shadow Mercenaries. This James Bourne codenamed Oliver wanted to meet him, yet Carlo knew nothing of these so-called Shadow Mercenaries. If Carlo meets Oliver right now without any information in regards to Oliver and his organization he won't be able to feel at ease.

Carlo contacted Luke the best investigator they had in the squad. Once Carlo sent a message to Luke telling him to find out everything in regards to the Shadow Mercenaries, Luke called back almost instantaneously.

"Boss, is it true? Are you really trying to investigate the Shadow Mercenaries?"

Carlo was surprised to receive a call from Luke who likes to change locations and phone numbers every five hours. Even more surprising was that Luke's voice actually had a trace of fear as he spoke.

Alex was still standing there waiting for his dad's next instructions. Carlo signaled him to leave the room, Alex did not question the order so he saluted and left the room.

"Yes, it's true... Why is there a problem?"

"Boss, how did you even find out about the shadow mercenaries? I'm sure I never reported anything to you in regards to them."

When Carlo heard that Luke didn't report to him in regards to the information of the Shadow Mercenaries, that could only mean one thing this organization was dangerous.

"A classmate of Alex is supposed to be from the Shadow Mercenaries, and it seems like he wants to meet me."

"Boss, what was the name of Alex's classmate?"

"He was called James Bourne." Carlo could hear Luke stumbling on the other side of the line.

"Boss did you just say, James Bourne?!"

If the fear in his voice wasn't evident a while ago the moment Carlo said the name James Bourne Luke's voice was now slightly trembling with a higher pitch.

"Do you know him?"

Carlo was now taking this seriously. At first, he thought Alex's classmate was a tad delusional and it was just a coincidence that he was able to stop Alex from drawing his gun, but hearing Luke's fearful voice made him think otherwise.

"Boss that person is one of the most successful agents in the Shadow Mercenaries. James Bourne is just a codename no one knows his true name. He like Alex is a young genius of the battlefield."

"Ok so he's like Alex, but what's making you so scared?"

Carlo was confused, so what if he was like Alex? Does that warrant such fear?

"Boss you don't know since we've always been by Alex's side, but if you face him as an enemy... Then you could only hope you die a quick death, cause that's the best outcome when facing someone like Alex. Still, the reason I'm afraid is not because of that, it's because someone with the same abilities as Alex plus an organization on the same level or above ours backing him, is a really fearsome opponent."

Carlo calmed himself and tried to regulate his breathing.

"Okay then send me all the information regarding the Shadow Mercenaries. I will see what I can do, but based on what Alex said he and that guy had formed a pact of brotherhood with him."

"That's our Alex for you, even the ever-elusive James Bourne wants to be his friend. He might have decided that they're on the same level that's why he initiated the pact of brotherhood."

Luke was a bit excited about the new information he got about James Bourne.

...

In a room full of military merchandise and a bunch of dumbbells scattered around, a boy was resting under his bed. The reason why he was under his bed was because he believed that when an enemy attacked he would think that he was dead after attacking the decoy dummy sleeping in his bed. This was Oliver, he was recording the events of the day in his personal recorder.

"Today I have formed a pact of brotherhood with a new comrade called Alex. He is someone with great potential, I wish to learn more from him. He even promised to introduce me to his father. I hope his father could teach me a thing or two about survival training. While saving a damsel in distress there was a minor scuffle against some delinquents who had nicknamed me the bloody demon. This might lead to bigger things, but as long as I persist in the justice in my heart then it doesn't matter."

Oliver had a smile on his face as he spoke into his recorder as he was excited since many cool things happened today.

Unbeknownst to him, he was being gravely misunderstood by Alex and his father. Coincidentally the name of his made-up organization turned out to be real, even the fake name he made turned out to be real as well, it was even related to the organization that he made up. Turns out all of his delusions were real the only thing not real was he himself wasn't James Bourne.

He who was just a little more above average high school student was being feared by two of the greatest mercenaries that ever walked the battlefield. If he knew what kind of misunderstandings were ensuing no one knows if Oliver would've been excited or scared.
