Alex put away the sharp knife.

Kate heaved a sigh of relief and looked at Alex carefully. Then, she nodded repeatedly. "Okay, okay. I'll go back now…" With that, she hurriedly left.

William asked, "Daddy, what's going on?"

George lowered his voice. "The servants are resting on the other side of the manor. It's more than 500 meters away. Even if you shout, Kate won't be able to hear you. And even if she has extraordinary hearing, she won't be able to get here so quickly."
