"Alright class, first off are introductions! we will start with you-"
He points to the kid sitting closest to the door
"-and go left to right, when we get to the end of the row we start again in the next row, now if you would star us off?"
What followed was perhaps some of the most banal and uninteresting introductions I have ever heard in my life
"oh my names 'soon to be dead nobody' and I want to be a great ninja and make my village proud"
Over and over again, the only difference was the girls who were depressingly misogynistic in that way that you just know it's generational learned behaviour.
"Hi! my names 'probably gonna get captured and tortured (we all know the fate of a captured kunoichi) girl' my dream is to marry a super handsome ninja and protect my village"
Ok maybe that was a bit mean of me but they're all basically just saying the same stuff, which naturally means that when it was my turn-
"Hello! my name is Hanabira Haruno and it's my dream to be a great shinobi and protect my family!"
And like that, my first day at the Acadamy continues, nothing really interesting happens, since it's the first day we just get a rundown of what we will be learning and then the day is over, some girls ask to play with me (they're six) but I say my mother wanted me home right after school.
She didn't. In fact, she said I should stay back and make some friends, however that mean I now have some time before I'm expected back home, and since this is the first real time I've had any actual free time away from my house that means I can do what I've wanted to for a while now, and that is of course to visit the library.
I already know where is so I head right on over but since it'd be weird for a kid like me to be looking for anything chakra related I have hatched a dastardly plan for getting past the librarian, which logic dictates should be a ninja so probably can't just sneak past, or maybe I can, I don't know however so I won't take the risk, I've only been able to test my stealth against my parents after all.
Wait a minute.
Now that I think about it isn't this the perfect time to test my stealth against a ninja? I'm gonna need to do it sooner or later so it might as well be sooner. Plan decided I head towards the library with a renewed vigour.

Alright now how to go about this, the traffic in the library is mostly civilians thankfully, because civilians can't sense chakra it means none of them would find it strange to see a child without a chakra signature, which means I only need to avoid the line of sight of the ninjas, which I can only assume the librarian is, however I don't know if there are any others.
Well, whatever, if I get caught I always have my old plan.
That in mind I follow behind the next family that I see enter and smother my chakra completely as I join them, just two steps behind, always keeping them in-between me and the librarians at the desk, which by the way are ninjas, noticeable by the headbands they're wearing.
Fun fact, if you walk as if you belong people rarely check if you do so once the family starts getting near the desk I instead move to the right where there is another couple of people standing around in the lobby and use them as cover as I walk past the doors and into the realm of knowledge.
Honestly that was easier than I thought it would be, that said, now it's time to find what I'm looking for, God I hope this library is properly sorted.
Twenty minutes later (I have small legs and it's a big library) I find myself all the way at the back of the shelves and in front of me are two books 'chakra and the elements' and 'ninja academy: chakra revision vol 3' with these hopefully I will be able to cast actual ninjutsu rather than just throwing bursts of elements, I can throw fire and lightning but I don't really know any other techniques or how to refine what I can do, and perhaps more importantly is learning the academy three.
I mean a form of teleportation, shapeshifting and incorporeal clones. HOW ARE THESE THE 'BASIC' ONES.
Whatever its time to read.

Sneaking out was even easier since I didn't sneak and just left instead, and as I now lie in bed under the moon, I ponder my most recent findings, for one the book 'chakra and the elements' was completely useless, the whole waste of paper can be surmised in a single sentence. 'Chakra can be transformed into the elements'.
NO SHIT IT CAN!!
However despite that disappointment, the other book was much more helpful, see 'ninja academy: chakra revision vol 3' was written for people in their graduating year 'I still don't know how old that is, and I still don't care' so it really had everything I should need in order to graduate, I mean the theory parts are easy cuz I'm not stupid, history is easy since no one here seems to care about recording dates so I just have to say 'the village was founded about 20 years ago' and that's close enough id get the mark.
I assume the actual ninja do record dates, but it's like in ye olde times when maps were only really owned by the rich and everyone else just guesstimated
And most importantly are obviously the practical's, now while I may not be strong, as I am still a child, but I have been strengthening my body since I was one and I can confidently say I could beat up someone twice my age, which means I should be able to graduate in a year, but I'm going to wait till I'm six, because really five is way too young, well six is way too young but I want to be a ninja so eh.
I am however confident in the rest of the practical's, which is to say shurikenjutsu and ninjutsu, for ninjutsu I have my amazing chakra control to carry me through, not to mention I still have an abundance of yin chakra, on a side note I predict my chakra will balance out around when puberty ends (ugh I have to go through puberty again) so there's that.
As for shurikenjutsu, well to be honest I kinda forgot about this in my excitement about chakra but I quickly tested my accuracy throwing rocks and a toy shuriken I found in the park once, and while my accuracy isn't anything to call home about I figured out that I can just cheat with chakra manipulation if I need to, and use the wind to carry my projectile, but either way I have 2 years to train so I'm sure I won't need to cheat.
With all that said its time to get some well-earned rest. I've got school tomorrow after all...
it's going to be a long two years.
