章節 487: Chapter 487: Revenge

Perseus POV

"Lloyd? He guided the nobles to set fire to everything?" Edward's expression turned suspicious as if he couldn't bring himself to accept that his own adopted nephew could be responsible for such destruction.

Edward's eyes bore a mix of disbelief and betrayal as he processed the unsettling revelation. He had known Lloyd for years, raising him as his own, and the very idea that his nephew could play a role in the destruction of our surroundings seemed inconceivable.

"Surely there's some mistake," Edward muttered, his voice carrying a note of desperation.

He struggled to reconcile the image of the young man he had nurtured as a royal with the possibility that Lloyd had led the nobles down a path of devastation.

"He couldn't have," Edward continued, his tone wavering between denial and a need for reassurance. "Lloyd has always been headstrong, but to orchestrate something like this? It's beyond comprehension."

Despite his reluctance to accept the harsh truth, Edward's suspicious gaze lingered on the distant silhouette of the burning forest. The very landscape seemed to accuse his adopted nephew, each ember floating upwards like a damning piece of evidence.

Edward's mind raced, torn between loyalty to his family and the harsh reality unfolding before him. The glow of the flames danced in his eyes, mirroring the internal conflict as he grappled with the unthinkable possibility that Lloyd, his own flesh and blood, had orchestrated this chaos.

"What...what are you going to do?" he asked

"I'll try convincing him to apologize or turn himself in one last time."

"And...if he refuses?"

"Simple, death, I've given him too many chances...which is unlike me."

"What-"

"As I said, only one more chance, if he still refuses, he will have to die, he betrayed us by becoming a representative instead of staying out of it, and now he led the others to burn down the forest where he once called home."

"What happened to the others?"

"All dead, by the hands of the wind spirits, they didn't stand a chance."

"I-I-I...I see."

"Well, I'm just here to tell ya, I'm off now, I can't delay this any longer."

Before going into heaven's gate, I'm going to need some godly essence to kill Envy and Cain, so I'm going to borrow some from Dawn, who was also working on altering Appolo's bow.

"Hey, I'm done, do you want them now?" she asked

"Yeah...by the way, do you have any requests for me?"

"Why?"

"I've been asking you to do a lot of things and it's a bit one-sided, so I just want to do something back."

"I don't really expect rewards, you know."

"Please stop that, just ask for something so that I'll become somewhat decent of a being."

"Why don't you just repay Anna instead?"

"You and her are both different."

"Fine..." she then put on a thinking-gesture, "What if you agree to go back to your original world after this?"

"...Fine, if that's what you want."

*****

I entered heaven's gate and walked through the hell I created. Heaven's Gate, in a way, has some elements of my power of Loki in it as I used it to instill a lot of fake and illusionary beings and organisms in this place to confuse whoever was placed in there.

Can they kill? Technically yes, if the minds of my enemies are fragile enough, their senses can be tricked to the point where they'll actually die as the boundaries between reality and illusion are thin, and if a person's mental fortitude wavered, their senses could be manipulated to the point where they believed in their own death.

Fragile minds could be tricked into perceiving a fatal reality, leading to both mental and physical death.

Imagine your eyes seeing things that aren't real, your ears hearing whispers that send shivers down your spine, and your skin feeling things that shouldn't be there. Everything you thought you knew starts to crumble, like the ground slipping away beneath your feet.

And the worst part? It's not just about seeing weird stuff. The mind tricks are so intense that you genuinely believe your whole existence is falling apart. You question what's real, what's not, and if you're even you anymore.

It's like being trapped in a nightmare where your own thoughts become your worst enemy. The more you try to fight it, the tighter the grip of this messed-up reality becomes. That's how they get you, you see? Push you to the edge until your own mind betrays you.

As for the soul, its fate remained a mystery. Whether it would ascend to the place one believed in life after death or linger here eternally...I do not know.

It didn't even take a proper 5 minutes before I faced a massive serpent. It coiled and lunged, striking with venomous intent. I then imagined a large palm to shove it away.

It collided with the Envy's oncoming assault. The impact reverberated through the dreamlike space, and the sin was momentarily thwarted, recoiled with a hiss that echoed throughout the air.

As the serpent prepared for another strike, I maintained my focus and this time, I envisioned chains wrapping around the serpent. The chains tightened, restricting the creature's movements and limiting its ability to strike.

I then created a large shovel and made it strike down at its neck with such fierce ferocity that it cut the serpent's head off, but it only regenerated back a while later.

"Where's Cain?"

"You don't need to know." it hissed back

"Hmm, well, I already know where he's hiding, I don't know what you're planning but it's easier for me this way.

I then commanded this word to trap Cain and go after him. Lloyd was with him and I commanded the world to stop him as well, I don't know how it'll go since I will have to focus on Envy.

He lunged at me again, this time, with a strike so powerful that I doubted even the goddesses would escape this unscathed, and instead of running, I flashed a super bright burst of light, it hissed and got blinded, but it didn't stop itself from striking me.

I envisioned the ground beneath me morphing into a quicksand-like substance to trap the serpent. I jumped right out of the way at the last moment and it suck right into the quicksand.

The god struggled against the imagined quicksand, its movements sluggish and labored. It hissed and writhed, attempting to break free from the trap, but my mind's creation held firm, anchoring the sin in place.

Now, let's head to Cain while this guy is trapped.
