章節 170: Chapter 170: Another Great Enemy

|To those who make it this far, you can tell that I'm mixing certain elements from myths and legends, I've mentioned it before, but I will use certain stories and myths from the real world to incorporate with my story, but I will apologize for the inaccuracies as I will alter them in order to fit the story.|

Perseus POV

It took a while, but sure enough, my help arrived and emerged from the shadows and an arrow immediately shot forward and struck the man in his should, though it only left a large dent and did not pierce him at all.

"I swear I recognize that demon before." Rowan said

"Yeah, she's a famous demon general, you probably fought her multiple times, but now's not the time." Reiner responded

"You chose to side with a demon, you really are beneath the value you're worth." Finn said

Lilith stood her bow up and rest her chin upon her hands on it while standing in a relaxed pose.

"He hasn't sided with us yet, unfortunately." she sighs "My lord did try to recruit him with the highest position he can offer."

"A general?" Phineas asked which now even got the attention of the heroes who looked back and forgot about their fight for a bit

Everyone in the room, including those on the cult's side, was surprised as Lilith has just made me potentially banned from the 4 human continents and a portion of the western one. Like come on, it shouldn't be that shocking that I'm a popular man who's highly sought after.

"He's not even an adult yet!" Finn exclaimed

"Old enough to be one with our laws." Lilith shrugged "Besides, don't be jealous, he hasn't accepted it yet, so you still have a chance to make a better offer."

"General? He's got talent, but not enough strength to back up all that authority and privilege given."

"That's for us to worry about."

"Perseus, come over to my side, I will make sure to forgive you for your insolence today." Phineas offered his hand "You, who possess the power of an angel, you should come to serve the one who can bring out your value the most, we can help Lucifer regain his wings."

Lucifer this and Lucifer that, like bro, give me a break already. It's getting annoying now, the Lucifer I know, or his real name, Ivan, even though he was a formally religious man, yet he still doesn't talk about this a lot. Well, the fact that his parents sold him off and all the other things happened, I can see why he no longer believed in all that crap.

He told me a ton of crap about his powers and with the extra help from the sun goddess, I got all the information I need already, but that one line about regaining his wings, that's something I plan to do anyway.

Only by regaining his wings will he be complete and powerful again, but the only way to do so is to negotiate it with God directly since he's the one who was the one who sealed it away in the first place.

Though I sense no lies in his words, he truly believes in his ability to regain my wings, does he have a way to communicate with God somehow? Man, I need to find a way to contact them through some back channels or something.

Phineas then sends out another beam of light and Lilith sends out a barrier to block it easily, but Finn then upped his power and her barrier is no longer holding up. Lilith is a magic archer in disguise as a general, barrier magic isn't her specialty, so it won't work for long.

Reiner is helping and that's what helps us stand our ground easily, but the cultist joined in as well and it's now a standoff between our shield and their large attack. No one in this world currently knows about these powers more than me and presumably some of the cultists.

So as of now, no one will know how to deal with him apart from me. And with the room so bright, Leilah can't really use her shadow powers to pull him apart from below his own feet since there is no shadow under his feet due to just how bright it is.

So while we're in the standoff, Ruka and Leilah summon out sharp rose petals to go around our barrier and kill their mages one by one weakening their attack.

This guy is strong, and it's so much fun just thinking about the prelims, this guy is still allowed there since it's a neutral territory where people usually escape to when they get a criminal record elsewhere, and he will make an appearance there, I'll be sure to make some sort of upset with underhanded methods, so for now...

"Close the barrier." I requested

"Are you insane?" Ruka asked

"I always am, do it."

Reiner and Lilith reluctantly do it and I charge in to absorb the light directly into my body where Finn then stops his attack with an astonished look.

"I'm immune to light, dumbass."

"Retreat." he ordered once he saw that "Perseus, I hope to match with you during the tournament, and that day shall decide whose light is stronger, I held back today, and I will not hold back then."

"The light of God against the light of the heathen, it'll be great, see you then."

Reiner POV

Phineas, in a flash of light, disappeared alongside his army, though I can hear on the outside that people are fighting, I can see a couple of nobles have died as well, this was not a win.

And especially, that boy...currently, I have an artifact on to hide that I've gotten on the 9th star, but even then, he's dangerous, he can take out a pair of my libs if I were to fight him head on, and now he's being openly recruited by the demons...

Father, what are you thinking? Edward and I have tried convincing you for so long, and we have to move fast before it's too late, a demon general position is the highest position of honor a demon can be offered, even Trevor was first offered that and worked his way up.

We do not want another great enemy.
