Yanarym was sauntering along the sidewalk on the busy street of the capital. Her hood was down, and her frisky curly wig was monopolizing her little face.
The dark brown cloak was enveloping her stature, but her arms were showing because both of her hands were holding a stick of treats.
On her left hand was a twirl of fried potato coated with cheese powder. On the right hand was a chocolate caramel apple.
The savory taste of sweetness and saltiness blended on her buds was nothing but magical.
The chocolate encased the gooey luscious caramel and combined it with a crisp apple to create the flavor of perfection.
The crunchy texture of the russet potato…
Was it because this was a magical world, the taste was more enhanced? It just blasted in her mouth.
She finished her spiral-fried potato first.
She liked the salty flavor, but sweets were her favorite. And favorites should be savored last…
"Ha— ha-choo!" Yanarym's apple went out of its stick. It dropped on the road, rolled, and was instantly covered in dirt. She blinked her eyes as she stared blankly at her sweetened apple.
The best… that was saved for the last… was gone.
Her hand moved swiftly to cover her mouth and coughed continuously.
"Damn," she cursed through her breath and wiped away the blood on her lips.
"I just took a bite!"
This freaking sickness. Why did it have to appear right now?
Guide-sama: "And now you hate it because it messes up with your food."
"I never said I liked it."
She frowned and looked behind her. She was torn about whether she should return to buy another apple or just go to the Karinderya to have her meal for the day. Eventually, she walked back because that sweetened apple was her appetizer.
And she had been craving that since last night.
Plus, she wanted one more stick of spiral-fried potato.
She needed a good treat to hype her appetite.
Guide-sama: "You don't need an appetizer."
"You're so antagonistic."
Guide-sama: "What I said is a fact."
"It's a false fact, I need appetizers too."
Guide-sama: "Gluttons do not need—"
"Shut up."
She escaped from the kingdom. It took her almost thirty minutes. She took that long because she had to be so careful not to get spotted. She could not let anyone know she was strolling to the capital all this time.
She did not anticipate that as soon as she was out of her palace, there were too many people lingering in the vicinity of her castle.
Guide-sama: "You expected them…"
"Yes, but not that fast and that many."
In just a short time, almost all of the servants gathered there to see whether she was going to come back to high ground or not. It did not even take an hour after her confrontation with Eriela and there were less than a hundred people who went to see her.
Some of them looked like they wanted to work under her as soon as they could…
They had the same enthusiasm Aliah had when she was announcing her loyalty to Yanarym.
Whoever might be spreading that rumor regarding the first princess's re-appearance, or she was accepting servants again, Yanarym holds no grudge against that person.
It was the main reason why she had a face-off with the queen earlier.
To make herself known to the public that she kicking and alive.
To make it known that she was not dead. So, that Eriela could not make any more moves after she showed up extremely healthy.
The first princess was popular even after all these years.
The Original thought she was completely deserted but Yanarym guessed that was just another of the first princess' biased opinions.
Yanarym assumed it would not be that hard to spread her name— she underestimated the result.
She should have known, during the three weeks she was hovering in the capital. That the first princess was not so forsaken Yanarym knew dozens of people who had the same nickname she was using.
"Rym, you're back?" Meelly said.
A woman who was wearing a long sleeve, barong, and pants. She had dark brown straight hair and a pair of hazel bright eyes. She was a tall woman with a good bubbly personality.
"Yes, I dropped my apple," Yanarym grumbled. "Can I order one, again?"
"You're so careless," Meelly laughed and took the stick of the sweetened apple. "Here, you don't have to pay, it's in the house."
"Are you for real?" Yanarym exclaimed and took the sweetened apple being handed to her. "You're an angel, Meelly."
"Yes, you gave me enough tips from the past few days. It's a give and take transaction," Meelly ardently said.
"If it's free, can I have another spiral-fried potato? The one with barbeque flavor?"
"Sure."
"You're the best, Meelly!" Yanarym smiled but still handed over one copper coin. "However, I'm still not broke. Treat me to something nice if I run out of coins."
Meelly laughed and did not argue with her best customer because she knew that this girl would not back down either way.
"Will that day ever come? You don't look like it, but you are hefty rich."
Yanarym smiled, "Believe me, it won't be that long."
She winked at Meelly and waved goodbye.
"Take care! See you later, Rym," Meelly waved back and entertained her other customers.
Yanarym had been living her life in her chamber room or the capital. Apart from studying books for most of her time. She spent some of it getting acquainted with some familiar names that were mentioned in the plot of the story.
She searched for Meelly along with the others for some time and developed a relationship with them. In case she would be needing their skills in her future venture out of the Menotalis.
Yanarym always believed that to succeed a good ally was necessary.
Meelly, the one who sold her sweetened apples. The best-sweetened apple Yanarym ever tasted. Would become one of Caius' women in his harem. So, Yanarym was pretty aware of how useful Meelly was in adventures.
