Safira nodded and headed off at once. Her thoughts were a mess, there wasn't enough time to process everything. All she knew was that she had to leave things to Seth to settle so that she could focus on Damien.

In record time, without taking any breaks, Safira made it back to Obsidian Howl packgrounds. When she reached the cottage in the woods, everyone was waiting for them. Safira shifted back to her human form at once.

She was exhausted from the journey, but she still cradled Damien in her arms with the utmost care. His skin felt cold to the touch but now that there were lesser wolves around, she could hear his heartbeat as clear as day.

Everyone there could too.

"Let us take over, Luna Safira," the healers came forward to help.

But Safira refused.

"It's alright… I…" she attempted to catch her breath as she got back up on her feet carrying her mate in her arms, "I can still move."
