I yawned as I re-adjusted my position in my seat for the fifth time. But Raidan didn't seem to notice. He's too focused on the host to notice that I'm bored.
How I wish that I had my phone with me right now...!!! But all our electrical devices were taken away from us at the checkpoint earlier. I wonder what's so great about this seminar that they are showing off so much...!! I have got nothing to do here and I feel bored to death. Yeah, I could definitely listen to the host like Raidan is doing, but things like these don't excite me. I swear I have tried to understand these things, to like these things, and this is the reason why I study political science, but I still can't seem to tolerate it. If you think deeply you will realize that, this world is all about politics after money. And so I want to understand it, I want to be intrested in it but I just can't seem to.
"What do you think?" he asked, as if finally willing to notice me.
"Of what?" I asked sounding unintrested.
"The event.... The host just explained the planning of the whole event", he said but he sounded a little bit off.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't notice. My mind was somewhere else", I confessed with a grin.
"Boring, isn't it?" he finally asked as he started clapping like everybody else to welcome the first spoken person of the event.
"You can't imagine", I said rolling my eyes making a pitiful face.
"Poor you", he should have sounded symphatattic but he sounded sarcastic.
"Can I tell you something?" I asked.
"You can tell me anything".
"You know, I never knew what's so great about politics and that's why after joining school in Oxford, I joined political science hoping to understand what's so great about it", I started, hoping that this would relieve me from this boredom.
"So, now you know what's so great about it?" he asked curiously.
"Well, that's the surprising thing.... I still don't know what's so great about politics", I said rolling my eyes.
He laughed hearing me, "You know Aristotle would be mad if he had heard this..."
"No, I doubt that. And that's why after a lot of consideration I've come to this conclusion that, there is nothing great about politics", I said once again rolling my eyes.
He laughed, "You know, you can't be like this", he said being serious out of nowhere.
"Like what?"
"It's a crime for you to be funny like this, and definitely in a place like this. I mean I want to laugh so hard but I can't because of this crowd. So, you can never be like this, got it?"
I laughed it away. But suddenly I remembered something and then I told Raidan....
"Raidan you can't be like this either".
"Like what?" he asked, confused.
"I told you about my best friend, shouldn't you be telling me about your best friend as well?" I looked at him narrowing my eyes.
"You have got a point", he said as if seriously considering my accusation.
"So..... Tell me", I looked at him with excitement. Wondering what's those things might be, that made them so close.
"Ok, so, let me think, was it spring of 2005 or 2006?" he started as he shifted his weight to my side on his chair and crossed his legs.
"2005 I guess. So, it was the afternoon of early spring. In our backyard there were tons of rose trees. And due to spring, flowers had bloomed in most of the trees. I was in our backyard, trying to get some roses for my mom, because my dad had pissed off my mom earlier the day. As I was about to pluck the last piece of pink rose, suddenly a bee came and stung me on my forearm, and instantly it started burning", he grinned looking at me. I looked at him symphatically.
"And then many more bees started gathering but I don't why, I just stood there. Then suddenly someone pulled my hand and started running. I couldn't see his face because of the last bit of sunlight was hiding his face. We ran, ran and ran and then we hid behind a very big door of the food storage. We hid there 15 minutes, until all the bees were gone. I still hadn't seen him. Because he was back facing me, keeping an eye outside on the bees from the peephole. I had seen him panting heavily because of the running, but from behind", he said.
"So mysterious?!!" I exclaimed in wonder.
"You bet. I saw him 15 minutes later when he faced back to tell me that all the bees were gone and we could go out", he chuckled upon remembering.
"Then?? You just went back???" I heard myself asking.
"You can't even imagine what happened after that...." I looked at him even more curiously as he said that, a part of me is getting more and more excited.
"As soon as we came out of the storage, he started scolding me about how could I be that stupid and why I didn't move when I had seen the bees".
"How did his face look like when he was scolding you?" I asked, curiously excited.
"Not much different than how he usually looks at you", he said teasing me.
"Thank you for the compliment", I said rolling my eyes , with a snicker.
"Ok, jokes apart... Ummm... I still had no idea about who he was. But I was already grateful to him. Because he's the first person to protect me, usually most of the people loved putting me in danger", a shadow of sadness and something more covered his face.
I know it wasn't necessary but I still placed my hand over his and gently pressed it, to remind him that he isn't alone anymore. And no matter what happened with him in the past, I'll always be there for him.
"Then somehow we lost each other on our way back home but surprisingly the next day we were introduced with each other as cousin brothers. And that's how our journey started and we are only growing strong day by day", he finished after taking a deep breath.
"That's it?? That's how.....??" I confusedly looked at him. Wondering how it's possible to become friends so easily.
"Yeah, that's it. Well, unlike you girls, we boys don't need a thousand days to form a friendship. Sometimes just a moment is enough for us to form a life time bond", he smiled looking at me. I also kept staring at him, as if he'd been even more handsome, because I would rather look at him than looking at those boring people.
Unconsciously our hands were still like before, until the first spoken person left and the second one entered, and we had to applaud to welcome him.
