章節 13: Keith Gave Lynn His Phone Number
Extending his hand to her, Keith softly spoke, "Are you all right?"
Hearing Keith's question, Lynn didn't run out like a shy girl that couldn't converse with their crush. Although she had a crush on Keith due to the genuine care she felt from his words, something that none had yet to show to her, Lynn managed to recover her composure.
What mattered to her was that such a handsome man like Keith showed compassion and care for her.
It was impossible that Keith didn't have any schemes when he approached her. Lynn wasn't delusional enough to believe Keith didn't have any motives behind his actions.
Being delusional was one thing, but deciding to ignore it was another.
Lynn didn't have any plans of living longer just to suffer in life. Naturally, she wouldn't care even if Keith planned to use her.
As long as a handsome man like Keith gave her the compassion, care, and love she wanted, even if it was fake, Lynn would indulge in it as long as she could.
Lynn was that desperate and one could already guess the suffering and neglect she had received in the past. Otherwise, she wouldn't seek fake feelings for the sake of temporary indulgence.
Judging from Lynn's personality, she wouldn't want to die as a virgin. For her, it was better to go out with a bang rather than have a miserable life accompanied by death.
Keith's interference in her life changed her future which was predicted by Alicia. If Keith didn't interfere, Lynn would have hired a sex friend a week from now which wasn't that much of a problem except for one thing that Alicia didn't mention to Keith.
Lynn had already decided to commit suicide after losing her virginity in the future when Keith didn't interfere in her life. But now that Keith did, Lynn would no longer hire a sex friend since she decided to do it with someone handsome like Keith.
She could also think of it as repaying Keith's favor for helping her in dealing with Raymond. Keith's interference had delayed Lynn's plan of ending her suffering but whether he could change Lynn's mind was up to him.
"Yes, I am. Thank you for helping me!"
Keith wasn't a psychic so he didn't know that under Lynn's smile and cheerful voice, was a girl who was broken beyond belief.
The first part of her sentence was a lie.
Keith, who was an otaku in the past, lacked social interactions so even if he could converse normally, he could not see through the masks or facade of his conversation partner.
Even an average extrovert might not be able to see through Lynn's facade, much less Keith who was a spoiled young master and an otaku in his past life.
Even if Keith transmigrated and started a new life, his old personality as well as habits were still retained. So even if he was no longer a rich young master, he often showed the demeanor of a rich young master.
After all, a person's personality couldn't change in just a day. Not only that applied to Keith, but also Lynn.
So even if Keith treated Lynn favorably and even showed her care and love, Lynn would never change in just a short amount of time.
Compared to physical scars, psychological scars would take a lot of time to heal. It was something that shouldn't be taken lightly.
Although Keith didn't know that Lynn was lying to him, even he felt that there was something wrong with Lynn's cheerful tone.
It was not because Keith had seen through Lynn, but because he had known some of Lynn's information from the friend quest that Alicia had assigned to him. Keith was somewhat aware that something bad would happen to Lynn if he failed the task even if Alicia didn't tell him about the event after Lynn had hired a sex friend.
As for Alicia's reason for not telling Keith, she didn't see any reason to tell him. Ignorance was bliss. And there was no point in letting Keith worry about a prediction in a timeline where he didn't interfere in it.
But if Keith had asked Alicia, she would have answered him truthfully. The premise was that Keith had asked Alicia, but even Keith didn't do that since he had already guessed that something bad would happen to Lynn if he failed the task.
Because of that, Keith was adamant about helping Lynn alleviate her depression.
Maybe it was out of sympathy, the reward from the system, the possibility of losing his V-card, or all three of those reasons. But Keith wanted to help Lynn because he believed that she deserved better in life.
So after a small exchange of conversation with Lynn, Keith handed a piece of paper to Lynn.
"Contact me if you need my help. Or if you want a date."
Keith gave Lynn his phone number as he spoke the second part of his words in a whisper so that only Lynn could hear them.
After giving Lynn his phone number, Keith didn't wait for her reply since he knew that Lynn wouldn't reject him, especially when he saw that she pocketed the piece of paper and didn't throw it.
Under the gaze and cheers of countless students, Keith exited the cafeteria.
