As he neared the monster's anticipating chelicerae– Ayo, in a fast sweep, slashed upward, cutting the thread and falling to the ground.

The monster, however, seeing that he was now within its grasp, darted at him, its eight legs clamoring the ground with every step.

Ayo rolled, there was no time to writhe in pain. If he didn't want to die. He had to get this over with.

What will happen though? Will he die if he gets killed by the monster? Or will he just exit the tower?

'Should I just get killed by it and get this over with?'

The subtle temptation of how easy it would be to give up on this current ordeal seeped into Ayo's mind.

He shook his head, dislodging the thought. What good would it be, if someone like Ganglati attacked again and he had no means to defend himself or protect his family?
