章節 36: CH 36: Deal

A day had passed since Ali's birthday on the 11 of April <you may not like it for being too specific, but I have reasons. I know that I'm kinda spoiling things, but believe me, it's worth it>, and everything had gone back to normal, with the friendship between Ali and the others deepening.
It wasn't a huge birthday, just a fun one with the close friends. Just how he liked it. Ali also thanked Dorothy for baking a cake for him.
And now, Ali had just entered the store and was walking towards the cafe of the store. After all, being the only store of the academy, it was quite huge.
The reason for why he was going to the cafe was because Alexis had asked for his help because of the exam in a few days.
And he spotted the said Alexis sitting on one of the chairs while looking outside the huge window as she waited.
"Sorry for making you wait." Ali said with a smile as he announced his entrance. Alexis turned to him as she smiled back and tried to get up, but Ali just gently stopped :"no, it's alright. I just got here myself."
Ali pulled the chair right across her back as he sit down with a smile on his face :"well, happy to know that I didn't make you wait."
But his smile turned into a teasing grin as he winked :"but I didn't expect you to ask me out on a date."
Alexis chuckled with a gentle roll of her eyes :"it's not a date, but feel free to call it." Ali playfully pursed his lips with a smile tugging on his lips :"it's at least a mini date, right?"
Alexis giggled at his childish antiques as she shrugged :"fine, call it whatever you want. You're such a big child."
Ali gave a toothy, smug smile as he shrugged :"that's how you love me, baby! Anyway, jokes aside, you said that you need help with your deck, right?"
After another playful roll of her eyes, Alexis nodded as she placed her deck on the table :"yeah, I don't think that my deck is bad, but it still has a long way to go.
Even though I haven't lost to anyone but you in this academy, I know that I'm still on the level of you and Zane. That's why I wanted to ask if you could give me advice and train me."
'I will train you, alright.' Ali thought in his heart as he fought the perverted smile that was trying to creep onto his face. Ali chuckled as he nodded :"alright, I will train you."
Alexis looked at him with a blank expression as she blinked before raising a confused eyebrow :"wait... What?"
And Ali shrugged with a nonchalant smile :"I said alright. Why do you seem so surprised and confused?"
The busty blond blinked in confusion as she frowned slightly :"well, strategies are very important, so I'm surprised that you would teach others your strategies so easily."
But Ali chuckled as he shook his head :"oh no no no, cutie, that's not the case. I wouldn't give my strategies to others at all.
After all, why would I want to increase the competition? I'm not an idiot, why would I increase the difficulty when I can just do things in easy mode?"
Alexis blinked in confusion as she tilted her head :"then why are you going to teach me? Don't tell me that you don't think I'm not someone to be careful of..."
Ali chuckled once again as Alexis narrowed her eyes with a slight glare :"noo, no, that ain't the case. The reason for why I'm going to teach you, is because it's you."
There was a look of realization on Alexis's face :"ahh, I get it. So you're saying that you would teach girls?"
But Ali snorted as he made an X with his arms :"nope! I won't teach girls either. Know this, Alexis, I'm a believer of equality!
Meaning that I treat everybody the same. If I'm not teaching guys, then I'm not teaching girls either, no matter how pretty they are.
The reason for why I'm teaching you is because you are a special case. Now, don't go misunderstanding that I'm like the idiots in the academy who are after you just because of your pretty face and rocking body.
I mean, c'mon, do you think this face hasn't been chased by pretty girls? I'm not someone who looks just for good looks, I'm someone who pays more attention to the personality."
Alexis raised an amused eyebrow with a small smile :"so you're saying that my personality is your type?"
Ali chuckled as he shrugged :"well, seems like it. I'm really not that much into girls that are shy and always need protection.
I'm not a night in shining armor who wants to save a damsel in distress. I'm a guy that likes women who are pretty and strong.
The types that are badass and aren't like sheltered princesses. And you, Alexis, are just my type.
I'm not confessing, though, don't misunderstand. At least not at the moment. After all, it hasn't even been two weeks since we got to know each other."
Alexis chuckled as she nodded :"alright, point taken. I'm happy to know that you see me as more than just a pretty girl. And I agree, we don't know each other to the point where we should just start dating."
Ali smirked smugly as he folded his arms in front of his chest :"and that's why, I'mma know you better in these mini dates of ours!
Who knows, maybe I will really fall for you as I teach you and see what you've got. Now, let's start our lesson then. Can I look at your deck?"
Alexis got serious as she nodded and put the deck in front of Ali :"yeah, go ahead. I want to know your opinion on it." Ali nodded as he picked up the deck and started going through it.

Honestly, Ali wasn't that impressed with the deck. But he had to admit, in this day and age, and as someone who has dueled a lot of dumbasses in this academy, her deck is a lot better than others.
However, it was still very bad. He honestly thought that might have a small heart of the cards on her side.
Seeing that he was finished looking at her deck, Alexis asked with slight nervousness :"so? How is it?"
Ali put the deck on the table as he put his arm on the table as well with a professional look :"I'm gonna be honest, it's not bad.
As you already know, I have dueled most of the Obelisk Blue students in the academy, and I can say that it's definitely a lot better than their decks."
Seeing that her deck was approved of, Alexis smiled happily. But Ali continued :"however, in my opinion, it's mid tier at best.
Since I've decided to teach, I will definitely do it right. And I'm not someone to half-ass things, especially when it comes to teaching.
And I will not be satisfied till I make you a top tier dueling. So I will be honest with you, even though this deck will make you a top duelist in this academy, I'm still not satisfied with it."
Heading Ali's praises and disapproval, Alexis was a little disappointed and sad :'No, Alexis! You're the one who asked Ali to train you, so you mustn't give up!'
She nodded with a serious face :"alright, what do you recommend me to do? Since I asked you to teach me, I will listen to you."
Ali nodded with a small smile :"good, I'm happy to know that you won't give up after a few words of discouragement.
But first, how about going somewhere more private? With you here, everyone's eyes are on. We won't be able to concentrate like this."
Alexis turned to look around them, and she saw that Ali was right. Everyone in the Cafe was looking at them.
Boys with jealousy at Ali, and girls with jealousy at Alexis. So she turned to him once again as she nodded :"alright, where should we go then?"
Ali got up with a smirk as he raised an eyebrow at her :"how about my room? There ain't a room as private as that." 'well, if you ignore the hundreds of duel spirits that it...'
Alexis raised an amused eyebrow as she smiled teasingly :"oh? I thought you weren't going to confess to me so soon? But you're planning to make a move already?"
But Ali snorted with a smirk and a roll of his eyes :"heh, who knows~? We will have all the privacy that we need in my room, and I can "punish" you accordingly if you make a mistake. Why? You afraid now? Chickening out?"
The blondy gave a snort of her own as she rolled her eyes :"fine, let's go to your room. I was the one who asked for your help. So since your doing it for free, then I have to at least listen a bit."
Ali nodded a few times :"well said, then let's go already. Heh, I will make you a duelist that no one but me can beat."
Alexis nodded, slightly excited as she filled Ali and they walked to his room together. As they just talked casually in the way, all the people that they passed by either had angry looks, or heartbroken looks.
After reaching the Obelisk Blue dorm, they walked to Ali's room on the second floor. Although the desire of punching the faces of the glaring ones in was too tempting for Ali.
"Welcome to my room. Make yourself at home." Ali said with a smile as he opened the door for Alexis to walk in.
Alexis nodded with a smile :"excuse me." And she walked in and looked around the room :"huh, with how wild you always act, I thought that your room would be as wild as you. You're bed certainly is wild though."
Ali closed the door behind him as he chuckled :"hey! I might be a cocky and near insane guy, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't clean my room. The bed is like that because I'm too lazy to fix it everyday.
I'm not a clean freak, but I'd rather see the place where I live in be comfortable to look at and live in. But do me a favor and don't take a look inside my closet."
Alexis turned to him with an amused smirk :"why? I think I heard you just say that you want to live inside a clean place."
Ali shrugged nonchalantly :"yup, but I don't live inside my closet, do I? So... Yeah, I don't spend that much time tidying it up."
Alexis chuckled before she walked towards Ali's bed and sat on it :"alright, then let's begin, teacher~."
Ali laughed before he shook his head in amusement as he walked to his bed and also sat on it :"sure, but I'm gonna warn you, I may be a strict teacher.
So you better not fool around, or you may be "punished"~. Now, give me your deck so I can start this lesson of ours."
Alexis nodded, slightly startled at how quickly Ali turned from a flirt to a professional teacher at the drop of a hat :"alright, here."
