章節 51: A battle for one's ideals
Me and Chloe met Blue outside the pokemon center getting ready for the battle to decide what we're going to do next.
"This battle is going to be a 1v1." Blue announced holding a pokeball that he just got from the P.C.
"That's alright with me." I said with a smile, Zorua was ready for battle but I knew that if we were going to battle for real I think it's best to play safe for now.
"Sorry Zorua, how about you sit this one out?" Zorua looked a bit disappointed when I said that.
I crouched down to her level and gave her a pat on the head before I sent out my first pokemon.
"GO! Charmeleon!" I tossed a ball to the field and Charmeleon blew flames into the sky ready for battle!
"Go Pidgeot!" Blue sent his pokeball to the battle field and Pidgeot demonstrated it's agility by flying around in the sky.
"Pidgeot use steel wing!" Blue commanded.
Pidgeot flew up into the air and did a nose dive straight for Charmeleon, his wings turning metallic as he did so.
The attack was coming fast. If I made a command to dodge right now he can easily change his course and hit me anyway..
"Charmeleon! Metal claw and grab onto the wings!"
Charmeleon's claws grew significantly and turned metallic just like Pidgeot's wings and the minute Pidgeot got close enough he grabbed onto his wings pushing him back a bot but he was still holding on to Pidgeot.
"Now quick! Use flamethrower!!"
Charmeleon opens its mouth and charges up his attack.
"Pidgeot use hurricane!" Pidgeot flapped its captured wings aggressively. He moved it so fast that Charmeleon couldn't keep his grasp on it and ended up losing his grip which resulted in a hurricane hitting him made from wind generated by Blue's Pidgeot.
The hurricane traps Charmeleon he couldn't move the generated wind slowly blows out the flame from his tail and he could barely stand.
"You're doing great, Pidgeot keep flapping your wings." Blue commanded
This was bad..at this rate we might not only lose but Charmeleon might actually…
"This is a good time to quit, kid. Isn't your partner more important than your quest to Unova?" Blue asked as the hurricane got even more intense.
I didn't know how to get out of this situation…
Charmeleon started to blast the hurricane with flamethrowers out of pure panic but his flames got weaker and weaker each time.
"Pidgeot..that's enough-" Blue commanded and Pidgeot sat by his side not losing eye contact with his opponent.
Charmeleon fell to the ground and fainted from the lack of oxygen.
"Charmeleon!" I ran to his side checking to see if he's alright.
The flame on his tail was almost.
"Charmeleon..return." I said returning him.
"This fight's over…go and continue your journey elsewhere-" Blue returns his Pidgeot and leaves to the pokemon center.
"Hey!" Blue turned to see who was calling him and it was Chloe, witnessing all of this happening and just couldn't sit by and watch it anymore.
"This kid risked a lot to help your friends!" She said mad.
"He may not have succeeded but he beat most of the grunts in that building and almost beat an admin just to get your friend's stupid pokeballs!"
Chloe looked Blue dead in the eyes as she said all of this.
I smiled knowing that Chloe had my back.
"He didn't had to go back but he did despite his condition from the admin fight he made sure he found a way back to the ones that needed him-"
Chloe went quiet for a while as she uttered her next few words.
"Even though it was all for nothing…"
"Chloe…" I muttered under my breath surprised by all the nice things she just said.
Blue said nothing and just walked back to the pokemon center.
"Jerk.." Chloe muttered as he left.
"Chloe…"
She turned to me to see what I wanted, just to see a huge smile on my face.
"Thanks alot for what you just did ."
Chloe's face turned red and immediately looked away, arms crossed.
"You're welcome…"
