章節 32: Chapter 32: Taken

This can’t be real, Selene thinks to herself. She can’t imagine there is any way High Priest Marcus could get past her grandfather’s lookouts. The way he slinks out of the shadows while laughing causes her whole body to shiver. She’s so scared she can’t even move while he steps closer.

Selene tries to remember what she had been taught a few hours earlier but she can’t recall anything. She never thought that the High Priest would actually follow them all the way to the Northern Lands.

“What’s wrong, Selene? You don’t look very happy to see me,” High Priest Marcus says.

“Onyx,” Selene yells through the mate bond while Marcus slowly approaches.

“I’ll be down in just a minute, your brother and I are just…” he replies in her head.

“Marcus is here!” Selene stutters, interrupting his thought.

“No, he’s up here with me. He prefers being called Mark just so you know for the future,” Onyx continues.

“No, High Priest Marcus is here!”
