章節 6: Ticking off the Goblin King

A wall showed up right before you could go through. "As soon as I see that Goblin King I'll-" "What'll you do?" A smooth voice asks.

You turn around and see him. "Um. You pulled a wall up. That hardly seems fair." Jareth smiles and shakes his head "Not fair? Nothing's fair. You have just as much a chance at winning as you do losing." You look behind him to see the end of the tunnel, but it was darker and you could barely see the tile.

"How are you enjoying my Labrynth?" Something he asks everyone who participates. And all of them answer foolishly, saying it's easy. To try and intimidate him. But they obviously are shaking in their boots. Until Sarah.

You smile mockingly at him. "Jareth, that's your name right?" You sigh and say "I've roleplayed harder dungeons than this. The puzzles they gave me in Kindergarten were harder than this. And it seems you put more thought into your outfit than you did your Labrynth." His smile drops. You could have just said it was easy, but you chose the most menacing words. And you weren't intimidated by him at all. You were enjoying ridiculing him.

"This is simple? Don't compare my Labrynth to your childish antics. This is lavish, it is not a 4 piece puzzle where they reward you for your mediocrity." "Then stop making it so easy to compare." You say, seeing how worked up he was getting over this. His hand flew up and pressed your hurt shoulder into the wall. "Then how about we up the stakes. You're almost grown aren't you? So we'll make it more grown up for you." You lean forward ignoring the pain. "Bring it on. I'll see you in 11 hours." Jareth disappears.

Jack is laughing whenever Jareth comes back. "What." Jareth glares at the boy. "Nothing. I'm just wondering how many hours you spent planning that outfit." He said biting his lip trying to stop from laughing during his sentence. "Your whole family is annoying. I should just turn all of you into Goblins now." "Then we'll annoy you for eternity." "Then you'll go into the bog of eternal stench." Jack looked at him triumphantly. "I don't have a sense of smell."

Jareth shouldn't have answered this time. He doubts he ever will again. The book chose the wrong girl.

You looked at the tiles and then looked at the small ridge along the walls. You stepped on that and made your way across, holding on to the vines. One of the vines turned into a snake and you simply tossed it over your shoulder. When you got to the other side, the tiles fell down leaving a big gaping hole.

You were so glad your clumsiness didn't act up on that part. You made your way through the entry and looked around. There were hedges twice as tall as you, and tiles everywhere. You looked at it suspiciously and stepped on a few. They didn't fall, so maybe this was safe to walk on.

You stepped lightly as you looked around. You can't relax, you just pissed off someone who could kill you at any moment. You regretted your words. Sure it was fun to see him get frustrated as much as you were, but that was mean.

No one who put that much thought into a costume should be compared to elementary school. It was a fantastic outfit too, but you wouldn't tell him that. He didn't deserve to know.

You find yourself in the same spot. You turned around and went that way and found yourself in the same spot again. You ran and then found yourself in the same spot again. You walked slowly and yet again. You looked around and tried to find something that would give away the clue. You saw a wall that was a slightly different gray than the others.

"Bingo." You started to push on the wall, you pulled, you kicked, and it finally slammed down revealing the next section. You walked forward and continued going.

You thought about Jareth, you wondered if he knew you were lying when you insulted his Labrynth. If you survived this, you had some serious suggestions on how to make it better. #1 less walking. You could barely get anywhere in 13 hours. #2 food-

As you continued listing on ways to improve the Labrynth and treated it like it was a game, you heard a rumble. "Uh oh!" You heard at least 15 tiny creatures squeal. "What is that?" You ask yourself, your eyes widening.
