Kane saw one of his men gallop up to the carriage window, signaling they had finally arrived at Northbrook.
"We are here," he turned and smiled at Sir Nash and saw the expression of relief on his face. Lord Alexsander was sure he was ready to escape the bumpy coach.
A sudden banging and shout came from outside the coach, startling Kane and Sir Nash. It was Sir Collin.
"Commander, come quickly!" Kane heard him shout, and he could see through the window that Collins's wings had unfurled, and he was already heading skyward. Without another thought, he opened the door of the speeding coach, leaped out with his wings extended, followed the young knight, and spotted Gabriel with Deacon and the ensuing struggle.
Seeing this raised Kane's ire, but before Lord Alexsander could reach them, Deacon had bitten Gabriel on the arm, startling him, which caused him to let go of the child.
