Ulf was shocked but knew there had to be capable warriors here for Skarde of all people to fall.

He knew that Skarde wasn't the kind of man to surrender so someone had to have overpowered him and not just any average warrior could do that.

"It looks like things have progressed just as he predicted," The man beside Ulf said with a grin but Ulf realized that this might not be to his advantage even if he should become King.

The people would see him as a conqueror who didn't regard their life, the only reason they accepted Ragnar was because the civilian casualty was to a bare minimum.

The opposite of what was done today but Ulf knew this was his chance to gain authority. He couldn't follow orders or the others would see him as just another Viking, he was the brother of the mighty Ragnar.

"You have done a good job taking down Skarde but he shouldn't be paraded like that…" Ulf pointed out, prompting the Viking beside him to wince in suspicion.
