MAVERICK'S POV:
I looked at her when she walked into the living room standing in front of me, with hands akimbo. That black dress made her look like a goddess, especially with the way her hair fell to her shoulders, and her woman features were very vivid now. And for some reason that I didn't know, my cork shifted in my pants.
She walked behind me into the car, I know I should have been a gentleman and opened the door for her but that wasn't my nature to open doors for women, I didn't know how to do that. It was some stupid shit.
The was began very silently, she kept her focus on her phone until I decided to at least break the silence.
"Who was that lady from the club?" I asked. That was the wrongest question but I wanted to try to make her feel comfortable with me at least. From all she said that night at the club, she wasn't happy getting married to me. The least I could was to at least make her feel comfortable around me.
"It's none of your business" She responded with disgust.
"Okay, I see. Are you always this rude to people?" I asked. I didn't expect that tune from her though. I expected a very soft one at least. She didn't answer my question but continued with her phone.
"Why do you want me to cancel the wedding?" I asked knowing she'd talk to me. "You mentioned it that night at the club" First she looked surprised and then she looked sad again.
"Never mind, I'm good now. You can go on and marry me. I really do not care anymore" She said smiling at me.
" Uhmm....., you see I.....forget it. But are you sure you don't want to tell me anything, I might consider if, you know, talk to me nicely" I was acting like a confused child. I was going to tell her that I didn't want the wedding too. But I didn't have the gut to. What if she goes on and tells her parents, how do I explain it to mom? I just couldn't let my guard down like that. Let her think I want the wedding, it's good for her at least. So, instead, I changed the topic back to her. But instead of being happy and responding, she just looked at me and rolled her eyes, the girl is some piece of work. That was the reason I didn't like women's stuff but yet I got amused for some reason I didn't know, she was intriguing. At least I won't get bored when I marry her, I smiled to myself and turned to Eric.
"Eric, please play some music," I told Eric. Soon, the soft blare of music radiated throughout the whole place. I saw her nod her head to the song.
"How long are we still going to drive?" She asked
"I think.......-"
" Never mind. I don't care though, we can drive all day" She responded sharply cutting me halfway.
Fair enough if she didn't like me, but it wasn't my fault that I was going to marry her, I wasn't the one who signed the contract, and I don't even want to marry her. But I decided to be quiet instead of speaking and telling her all that.

NATALIE'S POV:
Driving in that same car with him made me feel horrendous all along. What made him think he could speak to me and ask me those silly questions as if he cared? I wonder if he was trying to bribe me when he said he might consider it if I spoke to him nicely. As if I was a kid. Well, I already made up my mind to marry him, telling him my reason for not wanting the wedding might as well be fribble.
It wasn't long before Eric, his driver, pulled up in front of the biggest and best jewelry store. I've never been there before, but I've always to someday and maybe get a piece of jewelry. Eric opened the door for me, it felt awkward though. But at least he wasn't cold like his boss.
"Thank you, Eric," I said to him with a smile.
The place looked colorful and nice from the outside. 'BellaVista' its name appeared boldly and very magnificent on top of the building. I walked behind Maverick into the store. He didn't even care about me, he just walked in as if he came alone.
"Welcome to Bellavista Mr. Maverick" The lady at the entrance greeted him, he was really that popular.
"Thank you" he replied with a sweet smile, you would even think he was your prince charming. I saw the lady blush and smile shyly. Was she for real? Then we walked over to the counter where samples were displayed.
"Good day Mr. Santiago, what would you like?" The second lady at the counter asked. It was obvious he frequent the store, if not why did they all know his name?
"Thank you, I want wedding rings, her size," he said and pointed at me "and my size" he concluded.
"Oh my God are you getting married? She's so lucky" She smiled. If only she knew; I'd be so glad if she took my place. But with one questioning look from Maverick, she knew it was better she stayed quiet.
"I'm sorry sir, I'll take the measurements " She responded and walked over to me. She took my finger and got the measurement. She did the same to Maverick.
"Sir what design would you want, what make, diamond, gold silver, anything of such......" She asked bringing out a few. Maverick took out his phone as if getting information from it, then he looked up at the lady.
"Gold with pearls" He responded. I preferred silver to Gold anytime. He should have at least asked me what I wanted, after all, it was still my wedding, right?
"Okay, sir. We'll inform you once it is ready, then send it to you" She said.
" It's fine, just don't take much of my time making me wait. " Maverick said and turned towards the door.

When we were inside the car, he turned to me and smiled. "Do you want Ice Cream? Maybe we can chat and at least get to know each other before the wedding" He said. I would have said no, but if I did, my father would scold me, I didn't want anyone scolding me like a kid. At least I'll try to be good till the wedding was over.
"I want Ice cream, but I don't want to chat" I responded sincerely.
"How would you know that?" He asked
" I don't want to talk with you, I don't........-"
"You see, now, we are chatting," He said. He sounded pleased with himself that he felt we were chatting. I didn't have anything else to say to him.
"Go to Nick Ice, Eric" he commanded the poor man. I didn't speak, nor did he speak till we got to Nick Ice.
