章節 33: Chapter 33: A Plan

Jeffery stays after his shift in the morning, closing the bar and dismissing every customer that comes down. He slides a hot cup of tea across the table to me, giving me a sympathetic look as he does so. Kam sits next to me, and Jeffery takes a seat across from the two of us.

“It’s dangerous to try and get into the mansion,” he says. “It’s heavily guarded, and it’s rare that people are allowed inside.”

“You’re saying it’s hopeless,” Kam says.

“I’m saying it will be difficult,” he corrects her.

“Do you have a plan?” I ask, trying to ignore the jittery sleepiness that courses through me.

He nods, leaning back and crossing his arms. “I have an idea. You won’t like it, but it’s the only shot I can think of.”

“Why won’t we like it?” Kam asks.
