Kinsley’s POV

I pretend to sleep, waiting for Terron to join me in bed. I would hate to miss the moment I’ve been dreaming about for so long.

He slips into the space behind me, his arms moving achingly slow as to not disturb my rest, and he kisses the back of my head. Our bodies are flush, perfectly unified, once again. I nuzzle into his chest, hearing him chuckle in response.

“So you are awake after all,” he breathes, his warm exhale lingering along the back of my neck. I shudder at the familiarity of it. “I saw you spying on our conversation earlier.”

“Sorry,” I blurt, wincing.

He holds me tighter and groans, “Don’t apologize to me, Kinsley. You’re my mate and my Luna. You can do as you please—” he hesitates, his tone going cold, “—except for giving yourself to Ace Whitfield. You can never, ever, do that again.”
