Kinsley’s POV
I walk for days without a clue as to where I’m going. The world has never felt so large before tonight, the vastness of it set out before me. I run my wrists over the tough tree bark, scratching away at the white bracelets on my arms that mute my wolf.
I can’t shift, can’t run, and can’t even mind link my mate for help.
It’s a gloomy outlook but I know this isn’t the end. It can’t be. I have to press further, walk until my feet bleed, and then bleed some more. It isn’t a thoughtless task, it’s one made out of love.
I do love Terron. If nothing else, I should have told him that by the river. Everything we have been through seems so small in comparison to that mountain of a word and all it carries. I didn’t even get to say it to him without Ace coming between us.
If I never find my mate, that will be my biggest regret.
“A rogue! Up ahead; look!”
