Kinsley’s POV
I double over in the field, Lucas and Terron both pressing their palms into their faces while I trek through another failure. My pulse is rapid, my breathing labored, but nothing is working. I know my wolf is with me, I can feel her just under the surface, begging to be cut loose.
It’s been nothing but failures, though. The Alpha and Beta try to talk me through shifting, something that younger wolves can do with such a natural ease that I almost feel too defeated to try again. I calm my doubts that live permanently at the edge of my mind and try once more.
“Just focus, Kinsley, you can do this!” Lucas calls from a spot on the river rocks nearby.
