Ferdinand obediently kissed Arabella as she had asked. He was elated to get demands like this from her.

He showered her face with kisses before going for her lips. It felt both like a 'Thank you' and an 'I'm sorry.'

They stayed just like that for a minute or two until Ferdinand asked her again, "Will you really be alright later? I, I ended up doing it rougher than I planned. I'm so sorry."

He was apologizing now that he had calmed down from his high.

She was grateful he was so thoughtful of her. But what she wanted to hear now wasn't his apology but what he thought about their first time going all the way.
