I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero - [Arc2] - 74. Idle? Nonexistent!

---

El-Melloi II, a legendary figure, even though his magical circuits were quite poor, could not hide his abilities.

"My stomach… it hurts…"

El-Melloi II clutched his stomach, lying on the table. Even though his student was nearby, he couldn't suppress his urge to groan in pain.

He had initially thought this matter was at most on par with Gray's level, but this was way too high!

The young man sitting on the sofa with his hood removed, drinking the tea Gray had made, was Cyd himself!

"So… Mr. Cyd has been reincarnated through the Holy Grail?" Gray, who didn't fully grasp the severity of the situation, brought snacks to Cyd and asked curiously.

"It's not that simple, lady," El-Melloi II said, grabbing his hair in frustration. "Reincarnation is akin to resurrection. A heroic spirit gains a physical body while retaining their Noble Phantasms, allowing them to remain in this world even without a Master. But this guy munching on cookies isn't dead; he's alive."

"I was just making a joke at first," Sisigou sighed, realizing that his guesses, which had been mocked by Mordred, were actually the closest to the truth.

"Mr. Cyd isn't dead?" Gray tilted her head in confusion.

"You don't need to be so formal. Just call me Cyd," Cyd said, casually popping a cookie into his mouth. "Mmm~ The feeling of food in my stomach is truly wonderful."

"That's not acceptable…" Gray instinctively looked towards El-Melloi II.

"It's fine. Although these heroic spirits are ridiculously proud in certain respects, they're very easygoing otherwise," El-Melloi II rubbed his face and glanced towards a nearby cabinet.

Just like that guy…

"Well, this guy is really easy to talk to," Sisigou, seemingly trying to make Gray less formal, casually snatched a cookie from Cyd's hand and ate it.

"I do have some difficult-to-deal-with aspects," Cyd said, crossing his arms and reclining on the sofa, smiling lightly at Sisigou, who had raised his hands.

"Isn't this one of your controlled Noble Phantasms?" Sisigou nervously glanced at the black-scaled spike dangerously close to his neck.

"I can control her, but she has her own consciousness," Cyd shrugged, and the black scales began retracting, turning back into the scarf around Cyd's neck.

"According to legend, you defeated the dragon, and the fire god Hephaestus used the dragon's body to create a miraculous gauntlet made from the dragon's scales, even incorporating the dragon's nerves so you could wield it. So, this explains why you say it has its own consciousness," El-Melloi II stroked his chin.

"That's right. Her name is Little Black," Cyd touched the scarf around his neck.

[No! I am the noble dragon guarding the Golden Fleece under the orders of Ares, the God of War!]

The dragon's voice exploded in Cyd's mind.

[It's a pity. In the legends, you have become the villain.]

Cyd curled his lips.

"It was really dangerous. It's not easy to survive the Holy Grail War, huh?" Sisigou was stunned because he had only seen the girl beside Cyd with her head down and hadn't noticed her face until now, "Saber?"

"Hmm?" Gray tilted her head in confusion.

"Ahem, let's drop this topic," El-Melloi II raised an eyebrow and coughed lightly.

He remembered that Sisigou's report mentioned that the summoned heroic spirit was Mordred, the legendary child of King Arthur, the rebellious knight. Thus, the face of this heroic spirit should match the one in his memory.

"Ah, sorry," Sisigou scratched his head. "Mordred wouldn't show me such a cute expression, though she does look pretty adorable while eating."

"Anyway, let's talk about the commission," El-Melloi II nodded.

"Commission? What commission?" Sisigou was puzzled.

"Isn't it you who asked me?" El-Melloi II raised his voice.

"It wasn't me; it was him," Sisigou quickly shifted the responsibility to Cyd.

"Well, I do have a task for you," Cyd blinked.

"You want to ask me, an ordinary person, to do something even you can't do?" El-Melloi II sighed and picked up his coffee, reminding him of that time when he was forced to buy a strategy game.

"I need the Mage's Association's information about the Age of the Gods," Cyd blinked. "Specifically, about the whereabouts of the Greek gods."

"Pfft—cough cough cough!"

"Master!"

Gray hurried to El-Melloi II's side and gently patted his back.

"You're not joking, are you?" Sisigou's mouth fell open. "You mentioned history, but you never said it involved gods."

"Do you think I care about history?" Cyd shrugged.

"What are you trying to do?" El-Melloi II raised his hand to signal Gray to stop, then asked calmly.

"Just let them know I've returned," Cyd raised his left hand, and the white jade bracelet and the thirteen glittering crystals on it drew everyone's attention in the room. "They might no longer be in this world, so I want to find them. The Mage's Association should have some leads."

"Hmm, this isn't a joke," El-Melloi II covered his face and sighed. "Do you want to bring the gods back to this world? If that's the case, I might not be able to agree."

"The gods won't return because of me. Whether or not I return, they won't descend upon this world again. I just want to find them," Cyd said calmly after sipping his coffee. "Does that reassure you?"

"Hmm, but information about the gods is confidential. Even though I am the lord now, my position is still quite awkward," El-Melloi II scratched his face. "I might not be able to help you."

Primarily because if Reines found out about Cyd's presence, things could become quite serious. Reines would undoubtedly pressure him to use Cyd's power to resolve issues he couldn't handle.

"No~ As long as my dear brother uses the power of this Hero of Pure White to solve troubles involving those magi, no one will object to you accessing the information about the gods, or even passing it to others."

The door opened, and Reines walked in with a smile, her every move exuding an aristocratic air.

"You… used eavesdropping magic!" El-Melloi II gritted his teeth.

"Oh, I was just a bit curious about what my dear brother was struggling with," Reines said with a smile as she sat next to Cyd.

I'm struggling with you!

"Well, as long as it doesn't violate my principles, I don't mind helping you with some troubles," Cyd scratched his face.

Then could you help me deal with the fairy next to you?

Of course, just thinking about it.

"But unfortunately, I am quite idle at the moment with nothing to do."

Gray's eyes widened in shock. How could a master who always seemed overworked possibly have free time?

"Really? That's wonderful. It's a coincidence that your most beloved sister has brought you work to make your life more fulfilling," Reines revealed a smile that seemed devilish in El-Melloi II's eyes, as she dropped a thick file folder on the table.

"Happy, aren't you~ Big Brother~"
