章節 569: Fortunately, I'm Not the One Who Has Been Punished the Longest

Yvonne nagged him for a while.

Isiah listened quietly, and when Ivan finished speaking, he reached out and ruffled his hair.

"I'll keep an eye on them for you. Don't worry about this place. Just focus on your studies!"

However, Isia was curious about the way Ivan trained her.

She could understand why they trained every evening, as it was to improve the strength of the wizards, but it was a bit of a mystery why they were allowed to run and stand during the day.

"These two are meant to train them in discipline and obedience!" exclaimed Ivan.

Ivan had no idea how the Ministry of Magic trained Aurors, so he had to work in two directions to improve the individual abilities and obedience of Flun and the others!

This was especially true for those wizards from Knockturn Alley. They were used to being idle, and if they were not properly taught a lesson, there might be people who would go against their orders and refuse to listen to them.

"That's what Muggles do when they train their troops. If you have time, you can go to a Muggle bookshop and buy some relevant books. They're not wizards, but they do have some training techniques that work!" Ivan explained.

Alicia nodded thoughtfully. Like Ivan, this was the first time she had been involved in the training of wizards, and she had little experience with it. It would be good to buy a few books to further her knowledge.

After briefing her on the training, Ivan told her to keep an eye out for pure-bloods who had recently surrendered and to keep an eye on Nott…

Even the smallest things were mentioned repeatedly by Ivan.

"I know, I'll do these things even if you don't tell me!" Alicia pinched Ivan's cheek helplessly and said in amusement. "If there's nothing else, why don't you go to bed? Don't you know how late it is… Don't you have to show me how you train tomorrow?"

Relieved, Ivan went back to his little room, yawning…

Early the next morning, Ivan got up and washed up, then summoned Fran to give him the order to assemble and begin a new round of special training!

Perhaps because yesterday's practice lasted until late at night, three wizards failed to arrive on time, including Joseph, who was the last to arrive.

When Ivan's gaze swept over the group of late wizards, they trembled and tried to explain, but Ivan cut them off.

"I think I should have made it clear earlier that there is no excuse!"

Ivan's eagle-like eyes made the three wizards feel as if they had been plunged into an ice cellar. Their faces were deathly pale as they thought about the punishment they might suffer, and their bodies trembled from time to time.

Cruciatus? Or some other Dark Art?

However, Ivan's so-called punishment was not what they had expected. The rules were simple: one minute late, one hour standing!

Just… just like that?!

Joseph was surprised at the ease of the punishment.

Wasn't it just standing for a while? It didn't seem difficult. The slowest among them was only two minutes late, which meant that they could only stand for two hours at most…

Ivan noticed the expressions on Joseph's face, so he turned to look at him and said with a sneer, "Fran, keep an eye on them. If anyone moves in the meantime, add half an hour!"

"Yes, Sir Harls!" Fren nodded and looked at Joseph with pity.

Yvonne had shown him how to stand on his own two feet, and he had tried it himself during their break yesterday, so he knew how difficult it was to keep still for hours.

Pity was pity, but Fran did not dare to be negligent. He immediately pulled Joseph and the others out of the crowd and regulated their posture.

"Hands in place…stand at attention, draw back…yes, that's it! Have you no eyes, Joseph? See how they do it…"

After being reprimanded and corrected by Flun, Joseph and the other two soon stood at attention in a standard military stance.

"You'd better not let me see you move from now on!" warned Flan.

Several unlucky wizards wanted to nod but were afraid to move for fear that Flun would find an excuse to prolong the fight.

Joseph was the most relaxed, as he was only a minute late this time. In other words, he only had to stand for an hour!

However, as time passed, the relaxed expression on Joseph's face gradually disappeared, and his expression became uglier. He felt that he had been standing for a long time, and his legs were aching.

What's more, it's summer, and it's shockingly hot, if not noon.

Joseph felt that his back was drenched in sweat, and some of it was rolling down his forehead and seeping into his clothes, making him feel very uncomfortable…

Joseph wanted to scratch it and wipe the sweat off his forehead, but he remembered Flun's warning and didn't dare move. Instead, he looked at Flun, trying to understand how much time had passed.

Flun was silent, standing as still as a log and staring at them.

Every minute and second that followed was torture. The worst part was that it was unknown how long it would take for Joseph to finish!

In this dilemma, a drop of sweat fell from the protective shield that passed through his eyebrows into his eyes. Joseph couldn't help but blink a few times, and his body swayed slightly.

Joseph's face fell and he cursed under his breath. He steadied himself as fast as he could, hoping that Flun had not seen him.

Unfortunately, he was too late, as he heard Fran's emotionless voice.

"Add half an hour! There are fifty minutes left!"

Hearing this, Joseph's mind went blank and he almost fell to the ground.

Without the extra time, the punishment would have been over in twenty minutes, but he had to wait another fifty minutes!

After standing for so long, Joseph felt like he had reached his limit.

And the more time passed, the worse his condition became, which meant that more mistakes were likely to be made, which was a vicious cycle.

He finally realised the horror of this punishment, and Joseph would have preferred to suffer the Cruciatus Curse, which would at least have been more satisfying…

The only good news for Joseph was that he was not the only one to be punished. Two other wizards who had been punished to stand together soon followed in his footsteps, the worst of them breaking the rules three times in a row.

This thought made Joseph feel a little better, as he was not the one who had been punished the longest…
