章節 226: 226. An Unexpected Question

Mauve knocked softly as they stopped in front of Jean's room. This was the first time she would be coming all the way to his room.

His room was right next to Lady Jevera's. Mauve found herself staring at the door a little bit longer than she should have. 

Mauve heard loud scrambling at her knock, followed by a loud thud as if something heavy fell to the ground. She and Jael exchanged glances.

"Jean," she called out. "Is everything okay?" She asked, a little horrified by what could possibly be happening behind the door.

"Yes," his voice said and seconds later the door was thrown open.

"Princess, is something the matter?" He asked as he opened the door.

She shook her head, "Is this a wrong time? I can come back later." She fought the urge to stand on her tiptoes and look over his shoulder.

"No, it's perfectly…" The rest of his words trailed as he noticed Jael standing a few feet behind her.
