She came to the hotel room and opened a bottle of scotch. She drank one, two, three bottles. After that the night was hazy. She slept for a whole day before she woke up again. But, now she had a plan.
That night she needed to make a deal with someone. She came out of her hotel and went around the city. She needed a witch. Over the years she had developed a good sense to locate magic. She walked around when she heard someone scream. She ran in that direction.
"What is happe…?"
She saw a woman trapped against the wall, her neck was bleeding, a man stood in front of her, holding a knife. She pushed away the man,
"Are you okay?" She asked, "Okay? Are you okay?"
She nodded, scared.
"Nothing happened here." Caroline gave her blood and compelled her. "Go home."
She repeated it. Caroline turned back to the man. She suspected it to be a vampire.
"Stefan?" She was horrified. He was a human, right? Right? RIGHT?
"Why do you keep coming back?" Stefan spat.
"Why are you drinking human blood?" She shouted, as she held him by his throat.
"I don't drink….I just kill."
"WHAT?"
"I like the thrill of it all."
Caroline let him go.
"What?" She repeated.
"I like the thrill of killing." He shrugged as if it was no big deal.
"Well, I'll give you something to think about," Caroline pulled a pipe from the side of the building and hit him sharply on the leg. He screamed.
"Now, you lie there and think about what you have done." She walked ahead and threw the pipe down.
"BITCH!" He shouted.
"I don't care anymore." She didn't turn back.
He threw the pipe at her, she caught it in midair without turning back and threw it back at him. It hit him on his head.
"Good, but not good enough, Stefan." She waved a hand at him, "I was always better at this than you, remember?"
Caroline walked into his building,
"Katherine." She said grimly as the door opened.
"Oh My God, Caroline!" Katherine flung herself on Caroline.
"What are you doing?" Caroline pushed her away.
"Jade was right! I need your help!" She told her, "We both share the cure….and it's running out, Caroline!"
"So?"
"What will happen to our son then?" She asked, reduced to tears.
"That is what you care about?" Caroline shouted. "Something is seriously wrong with Stefan! Haven't you noticed?"
"I…"
"He may not acknowledge who I am, But, I am his friend. His wife."
Katherine flinched.
"We had a wedding." Caroline ignored her, "I will help him. Disregarding what he has done to me! The Stefan you have right now, is not the real Stefan!"
"Car…."
"I will get him back." Caroline told her. "Or I die trying."
She pushed Katherine away.
She went down and opened the manager's office,
"Hey, Mac…" She read the name from his tag. "I need to talk to the owner…"
"W.."
"Just give me the number."
She took the address and disappeared out of the room. She needed security for something.
She stepped inside the house where Jade Salvatore had just moved in with her 'crazy' mother.
"Caroline!" Jade was extremely happy to see her. "You came?!"
"Of course, I did." She smiled softly. "I can be mad at Stefan, Katherine or your mother…but, kids are just innocent."
Jade smiled.
"So, do you want to meet her?"
"Okay." Caroline wasn't particularly thrilled about meeting the woman who was the first love of her husband. "I suppose."
She came inside.
"Hello, Valerie." Caroline came inside, expecting a smug expression on her face.
But, Valerie looked terrible. Her hair was messed up, her eyes had dark rims and she looked overly tired. She looked as Jade said, 'Crazy.'
"Caroline." She recognized her after a few minutes. "That you came."
Caroline was speechless.
"She made me do it." Valerie gasped. "She did! She made me…and then, she stole…she stole him."
"What?"
Valerie wasn't making any sense to Caroline and Jade.
"She said, if I didn't make him pay…" Valerie stood in front of Caroline, "She will lock me up again! She did it because he said so. She always does…"
Valerie fainted.
"Who is she talking about?" Caroline turned to Jade, bewildered.
"Lillian Salvatore. Julian." Jade told her, "Julian wanted revenge from the Salvatore brothers, so he forced Lillian to take them apart."
"WHAT?"
