章節 23: Let the Damnation Begin
The number of candidates that exceeded the point cutoff mark weren’t much. When they first came to write the exam, the number of candidates was around 500. But now, they were no less than a 100 candidates that had passed the exam, including Kelvin and his friends.
The exam candidates, that didn’t reach the point threshold, were told to join the disqualified candidates in the jet hangar. After that, the head teacher took the passing candidates to an open spaced room, which had a large bus parked in the middle.
“Candidates, please enter the bus in a single line.” The head teacher said, as he gestured towards the bus. The bus was quite spacious enough to fit all the candidates.
They all got onboard, including the head teacher. Just like before, there were already a number of demon hunters that were ready to open a portal that lead to the main island.
The driver started the bus, and drove through the portal. Kelvin hasn’t really gotten used to the portal travel; it always gave him a mesmerizing feeling, seeing one location change to another. On the other side of the portal was a really busy city, with different types of buildings.
All the candidates were confused. They were expecting to see the academy, but instead they were in a city. Seeing the confused look on the candidates, the head teacher decided to explain.
“Welcome to the Glenview isles. As you can see, the island is divided into two sections; the residential area and the academic area. We are currently in the residential area, which comprises of the families of our students, and also citizens that were affected by a demon attack, and are too scared to go back to normal civilization. So they seek refuge here for protection.”
“We won’t be doing a full tour today, because I’m sure you are all exhausted and tired, so we will be dropping you guys off in the student residence.”
Kelvin was greatly marveled by the cheer size and infrastructure of the city buildings. There were different cars and people, each moving to their respective destinations. It was really impressive; it didn’t feel as though they were in an island at all. Instead it felt as if they were driving through a normal city.
The drive to the academic area took a while, but they eventually got there. To be honest, Kelvin and the rest of the candidates in the bus thought that the city was quite impressive, but looking at the academy, they knew instantly that the city couldn’t hold a candle to the level of grandness and infrastructure of the academy. The academic area had a towering wall that circulated around the main academy. There was also a firm metal school gate that had the initials of the academy “DHA” boldly displayed on it.
The demon hunter academy had a simple layout; the large school compound comprised of three main sections, which were divided by a wall with a gate. Firstly, the academic section, which had the main school building, an auditorium building, and the school library building. In this section, right in front of the main school building, were five large human stone statues. The five human statues were all dressed in a hooded cloak, which concealed their faces. Each of the human statues, possessed different weapons, and they were all carved with high detail.
The second section, which was the student residential area, had the male and the female dorm buildings. The third and the final section, was training and combat area. There were also other smaller areas and location in the academy, and they were also used for different kinds of activities.
The bus drove into the student residential area. The student residential area was really large; it was beautifully adorned with trimmed flowers and vegetations. The student residential area had two massive buildings; one was the male dormitory, and the other, the female dormitory.
Both of the dorms had the same structure. There were four consecutive floors in each building. The fourth floor was for the third year students, the third floor was for the second years, the second floor was for the first years, and freshmen. The first floor was the reception and lobby area.
The bus finally stopped and they all came down. Standing in front of the dorms were two demon hunters; one of them was a man around his late 30s. The man had a dark blonde hair, with a short goatee. The second demon hunter was a female; she had a jet black hair, and was around her late 20s.
After they came down from the bus, the two demon hunters approached them. The head teacher gave a quick introduction;
“These two, are the male and the female dorm masters. They will be in charge of your daily dorm activities. If you have any problem, please do not hesitate to inform them.”
“I have some urgent matters to attend to so I will leave the rest to them.” The head teacher concluded.
After that, the head teacher entered the bus, and left.
“Okay, I would like the girls to follow me.” The female dorm mistress said, leaving the scene.
All the girls followed the female demon hunter to the girl’s dorm building, which was on the other side of the residential area.
“Okay, allow me to introduce myself; my name is Griff Hyde, and just like Sylvester said, I am the male dorm master. Please follow me so that you will be assigned your room numbers and keys.” The male dorm master said.
The boys followed him into the dormitory, and just like the outside of the building, the interior was also magnificent. Griff pulled out a list, and said:
“You all will be given personal rooms so when you hear your name, please come up and collect your room number and keys.”
After that, the dorm master started calling out their names sequentially. After collecting their room umbers and keys they were directed to the elevator, which took them to the second floor. Kelvin got room number 23; he was given two keys. One of the keys was for opening and locking the room, while the other key was for their individual wardrobes.
“I would advise you all to rest up. The principal will be coming to address you all tomorrow. Once again, if you have a problem, please let me know.” After that, the dorm master left.
“I guess we finally made it in.” Carl said to Kelvin.
“Yeah, by the way, what is your room number?” Kelvin asked.
“I got room number 19. What about you Ray?”
“Oh, I got room number 31.” Ray replied.
“Having separate rooms doesn’t change anything; I’m sure we can all hang out some time. Anyway, I’ll talk to you guys later; I want to check out my room.” Carl said, rushing to his room.
“I guess I’ll see you later Ken.” Ray said to Kelvin, as he also went to his room.
Kelvin was able to locate his room in no time. He unlocked the door using the key, and went in. The room wasn’t really fancy or grand; the room just had the basic necessities that they were going to need. Kelvin walked around the room; he entered the bedroom. The bedroom had a bed, a closet and a changing room. There was also a closed door, which Kelvin guessed was the bathroom and toilet. Kelvin used the other key and opened up the wardrobe; inside, was the school uniform, training outfits, and other clothes for different school activities. Kelvin placed his sword in wardrobe and locked it.
He walked to the curtains and pulled it open, to let in some fresh air. Feeling tired, Kelvin walked up to the bed and lay down.
‘I made it into the academy; now I just have to wait for George to find the demon separation technique, and I can finally have my life back.’ Kelvin thought as he drifted off to sleep.

Later that night, on the roof of the school building, was an unknown man. The man was obscured in the darkness of the night, and his features weren’t fully visible. The only visible features were his long tail and the markings of a large open eye across his chest.
This mysterious man was currently speaking with someone on a small communication devices in his ear.
“Infiltration was a success.” The man said in a deep and coarse voice.
“That is good to hear”, said a voice from the other side of the communication device.
“Let the damnation begin.”
