章節 160: Pregnant!Erin Lindsay x Jay Halstead
Erin stared at the two pink lines, she sniffed, wiping at her eyes at this point she couldn't tell if they were happy tears or nervous tears. She was happy at this revelation, but she had been told after the birth of her first child that she may have difficulty carrying this one. She heard the happy shrieks of her child mixing with the deep laughter of her husband, Jay Halstead. She released a heavy breath. She wiped at the tears, fixed a smile and adjusting the flannel shirt which belonged to Jay, she left the quiet peace of the bathroom.
Jay looked up as the door swung shut, Erin gave him a watery smile. He caught their rumbustious child in his arms, swinging them into a hug. He whispered something in their ear while tickling them, their shrieks of laughter bouncing around the room. Their child nodded, and launched themselves at Erin, who caught them swinging them up into her arms. She left the little legs and arms of her first born wrap themselves around her, as she buried her face into their shoulder. Jay soon joined in the hug, kissing Erin's hair. Their child wigged in their mother's arms. Jay pulled away and moved to hug Erin from behind, he rested his chin on her shoulder as he made faces at their child who giggled and squirmed. "Everything okay?" He asked huskily. Erin hummed.
A few hours later, after they had put Lieutenant Trouble to bed, they entered their own room. "Erin, what's wrong?" Jay asked his wife's back as she stared out at the view across the city. She turned and gave a watery smile, Jay's heart clenched, and he started forward. "I'm pregnant, Jay." Various emotions flashed across his face before a wide grin spilt his face. He gave a shocked laugh, before moving forward and pulling her into his arms. "Erin. That's great." Erin stilled and he pulled away, cupping her face in her hands. She shook her head, choking on his name. "We will be fine, we will get through this." Erin gave another watery smile, she ducked back into his arms, burying her face in his neck and he wrapped his arms tight around her. Both were filled with nervous excitement for what their future held.
