"L/N!" Your name was called, and you moved quickly over to the head nurse. "Yes." She handed you a file, "A cop came in with lacerations steaming from a minor car crash and jumping through a glass window." She shook her head. You nodded, taking the file. You noted the name on the file, you sighed. You had an inkling when the head nurse had mentioned it was a cop and then the injuries of who it could be. "I can't work this. I'm friends with him." She sighed, "It's going to have to be you. Every other ER nurse is busy, and Linda can't work on her husband so its going to have to be you." You nodded and took the file, reading through it. You shook your head and headed into the room that housed Danny. You opened the door, Danny was arguing with Baez. "What did you do this time?" Danny jumped when you entered the room. "Thought you were Linda."
"Not Linda." You snapped on the gloves and began to clean Danny's wounds. After cleaning up his facial lacerations, you checked him for a concussion. "No concussion." Danny sighed in relief. You began to clean his wounds on his arms. You shook your head at Danny's recklessness. Baez informed him about the updates in the case. The door opened, and Danny stilled. You turned smiling at your best friend, "Linda, Danny's fine. No concussion. I just finished patching him up." Linda gave a slight sweet smile. "Good, that means I can do this." She wacked Danny with her hands several times. He caught her hands. "Linda...Linda...I am fine. I will always come home to you and the boys." She smiled and kissed his cheek. "You had me worried." Danny scoffed, "You know me, I'm invincible." The three of you snorted at Danny's comment. "Hey!" Danny's phone rang before he could defend his position. "Reagan. Alright. Be there in twenty."
Danny hopped up off the bed, he had been sitting on. Baez took the keys from his hands. "You are not driving." Danny tried to argue but stopped when he saw the deadpan looks on Linda's, Baez's and your faces. "Alright." He huffed, holding his hands up. Danny and Baez left so you and Linda began to turn over the room. Once you were both finished, you and Linda leaned against the bed. "Drinks tonight?" You asked, "Oh absolutely. I'm gonna need a double after this shift." You laughed and the pair of you left the room for new patients and to file paper work.
