"All I'm saying, is that if you blow up the house, you're going to be so fired." You muttered to Torres as he made to move into the house. You were sitting outside on the gravel driveway behind the car using it as a shield. Nick sat back down and huffed. "Are you even sure?" He asked for the millionth time. "That I saw a bomb?" You asked sardonically. "Yes, I'm sure." Nick huffed again. "How long until bomb squad gets here?" He asked again, "It hasn't changed from the half an hour it will be like the last time you asked thirty seconds ago." You answered. Nick watched as you played a game on your phone, the way you scrunched your nose as you got to a difficult part. He sighed again and got up. "Sit back down." You ordered. Nick rounded the car ignoring you, "There is no bomb if there was I would have seen it." There was a ringing and the world crumbled around you. You sat back up brushing off the debris that covered you. You rushed over to Nick and checked him. He jumped freaked, "All good boss." His eyes caught the house, "Oh boy."
"You could have gotten us blown up!" You shrieked at him. "Hey, I didn't do anything."
"You almost entered the house when I said there was a bomb." Nick held up a finger to calm you, it only enraged you more. "I didn't see it."
"That doesn't mean one wasn't there and look..." You jabbed a finger at the house using it as your evidence. "We wouldn't be having this conversation if you had just listened!" You shrieked at him. "Yeah, well...Shut up!" You turned away to call Gibbs, blood hot under your skin. Nick caught your clipped conversation. He felt guilty about what had happened, he hadn't seen the bomb and you had been right. He had almost gotten you killed, and the guilt was overwhelming him. He reached towards you and kissed you. You wrapped your arms around his neck pulling him closer as his tongue moved along your lips enticing you to want more. Sirens got closer and Nick let you go. "Talk later." You nodded and moved towards Gibbs and McGee who had just arrived and thankfully had missed the kiss.
