Jia Yan had already arrived at an inspection site in his lane, as requested by Gutan. Several workers were on site, performing some basic tests to determine whether the battle pets were in violation of any rules.
During the inspection, Jia Yan's heart began to flutter with anxiety. His body was strange compared to ordinary battle pets, but to his surprise, the inspectors merely looked at his exterior, verified that he had no weapons or special metallic modifications, weighed him, and let him pass!
Such an inspection was exceedingly simple!
Before long, however, Jia Yan realized the truth. The so-called inspections were more or less formalities. After all, the aliens—who were accustomed to the myriad species in the galaxy—could not conceivably establish unified standards. If there were precise specifications for battle pets, they would all be carved from the same mold, robbing the battles of their thrill.
