Leah swiped the blood off from her dagger, looking at the corpse with indifference in her eyes. She held two daggers in her hands, disappearing into the shadow again despite being bound by the magic. Her agility and concealment technique are top-line even among the veteran assassins. There was no chance that they would find her.
" A troublesome girl aside the boy. Mm, elves, and royal beasts. You are indeed a peculiar team. I wonder if gods had intervened in your journey because you look like those from old times. The heroes who protected the world from the advent of the dark stars."
Cardinal didn't sit anymore as he walked toward them with a carefree face. Every step he took created a flesh abomination that came from corpses. The horrifying scene of limbs and flesh blending in with blood showed how evil he truly was despite having a gentle face.
" You monster!"
Licht threw off the bishop, protecting his teammates with his silver sword energy that cut through the magic itself. This was his newly created power that used anti-magic energy that he learned from the northern guards.
"Anti-magic? A wonderful ability. You don't seem to be from the empire, yet you managed to learn their core information. I am being marveled by your talent, boy. It is a waste to kill all of you. Each of you has the talent to become a cardinals perhaps even a future pope. I will capture you and train you to become our hands and legs."
Cardinal revealed his white teeth, chaining him down with his blood chains. However, that didn't stop Licht as he used his power to freeze blood and cut off his cheeks.
" Kuhaha!"
Cardinal burst out with laughter, feeling the blood on his cheek. He saw the legendary power of ice that northern warriors had and he also witnessed him using sun power. This fueled his interest to capture him even more.
" Licht!"
A single bullet grazed Licht's cheek as it hit the Cardinal, but unlike normal humans, his body was entirely made of corpses and blood, so he was practically immortal.
The hole in his body instantly regenerated as he threw blood droplets toward them. Right before the blood hit Cynthia who was chanting magic, Daemon stood in her way while blocking the blood with his bare body. Although he was a master who could use his body as a shield, the blood magic of Grand Mage was simply that powerful.
" Blergh*"
He spat out blood, looking at his broken ribs with a heavy face before blocking the bishop who tried to use his weakness. He felt his consciousness was slowly fading away as he reached his limit.
" Healing light!"
Cynthia used her magic to stop his internal bleeding while using her power to create a shield that protected him from the attack of the bishop.
" Don't underestimate me, brat!"
The bishop threw a powerful punch toward Cynthia who didn't think he would attack her even though he was injured by her teammates. This man was crazy enough to ignore their attacks because he believed Cynthia was trouble.
" Blood Frenzy!"
Cardinal buffed him with his magic, granting him a temporal boost. The arrows and bullets didn't stop him and he was protecting his vitals with his mace while the other bishop covered his back.
" Hah, you really think I am a vegetarian."
Agam appeared in front of him with his sword. Before he could stop him, Agam's sword shone white with gentle light. The blood and flesh around him shrieked with fear, escaping from the light of life and glory. This sword was once a symbol of glory and now it is the symbol of life and justice.
The bishop rained down his mace with incredible speed that created a ripple in the air, but what he saw wasn't fear or negative emotions in Agam's eyes. It was just an endless calm sea that engulfed his crimson light with its gentle and unbreakable waves.
The blood splattered from his hand as his hand flew over the floor. He clutched his hand with a pale face, looking at him with horror because he was a master like him, yet he literally overwhelmed him like he wasn't a master.
