" Go on. I assume you are guiding them through the desert, but do you think that will help you? Although I found a piece of evidence, you are probably innocent. However, I have to follow a few steps before releasing you. I will make sure that you have no relationship with the cults."
The captain didn't hesitate to show his side because he believed it was right. His words made Agam agape with shock since nobody likes to admit their mistakes. Especially high authority people who tended to value their pride over others.
" Well, it is a surprise. I didn't think you would side with us. I thought you would either value your honor or your brother."
Agam unknowingly talked out loud despite facing him. The captain didn't change his expression as he pulled out a cigar from his pocket and lit up with his power.
" I am not a fool or a tyrant. I don't convict people because of my haughtiness. I convict them because I believe they are criminals. That is my knight code. Besides, you can call me Aston."
Aston spoke with a calm face, huffing out smoke from the cigar. He knew Agam didn't mind him and he wanted to smoke due to his brother. Honestly, he couldn't stop thinking about his brother, he didn't understand why his father chose him over him.
" You are a good man, Aston. I can promise you that we are innocent, but I am feeling iffy about this. Do you really believe people like us who could easily take over a city, would do something silly?"
Agam shrugged his shoulders whilst speaking the truth. It was a logical question that forged his suspicion even more. He heard that these people had top-tier weapons and individually they were equal to tier 5 which was no joke.
" Indeed. I will get to the bottom of this. By the way, what is your relation with life guardians?"
Aston narrowed his eyes with a serious face, believing Agam was a life guardian. He saw the symbol on his sword before and it was similar to the ancient symbol of life guardians who led the ancient people to here. They were protectors that were different from Gods and as time progressed they were nowhere to be found.
" I don't know what you are talking about. Aren't they old myths? I heard they have perished after the great flood of death."
Agam feigned ignorance in front of him. His calm eyes were surprisingly honest looking.
" Fine. I believe you for now."
Aston closed his eyes with a deep look. He gestured for the men to give them food because it was dinner time.
Meanwhile, the butler was looking at them through the magic device where he planted before. He witnessed Aston making a deal with them and he understood he wasn't fooled by the fake evidence, so that meant the only thing was remaining.
" Jaka, plant the explosive. Time it to 2 minutes and get out from there."
The butler sighed with a cold face, feeling helpless. It was his duty to ensure the lord's wish was fulfilled and he already tainted his hands with mud many times.
The time ticked as he observed them. The guards were relaxed and some were even chatting with others.
" Time is up."
He put on his gloves, wearing his tuxedo while blocking his face with a dark mask to ensure nobody recognizes his face.
BOOM*
The giant explosion engulfed the buildings as the knights rushed out with urgency. They shouted at the people to help them.
" Captain. We need more people."
Jadaka said with a pale face, feeling suffocated, but he didn't notice there were a few individuals that were sneaking into the building.
" Find them and make sure to apprehend them alive."
The butler spoke coldly, looking at the criminals with a cold face. The criminals nodded silently, entering the building to find them. Everyone knew the exact location of the cells and soon found them.
" Who are you?"
The guard tried to signal the knights, but the criminals didn't hesitate to kill him. They stabbed him in the chest, taking the keys in the process before heading toward them.
" As expected you are the people who framed us."
Regina looked at them coldly.
