The ominous red circle was painted in the middle of the ruins as it glowed brightly. The unholy energy that defied the very nature of living beings spread through the rumbles like a coiling snake that was looking for a prey.
It reached out to thousands of remains that peacefully slept there as it kept resurrecting them from their eternal rest and tore them away from the embrace of the gods.
The red and green hands rose below from the ground as the undead army popped out from the underground to stop other armies. They didn't have perfect physical bodies, and they are minds were filled with hatred and negativity that clouded their once great minds.
Neither their wisdom nor will could be seen as they thought one thing and that was destruction. The instinct of living dead caused them to move towards the nearest hostile beings, which were other undead from the different origins.
Ironically, both sides mocked the true meaning of life. The symbol of evil and symbol of destruction existed in their minds, leaving nothing but a mindset of extinction.
" Where am I?"
Castella looked outside with puzzlement as he stepped out from his chamber. He saw his once great city was in ruins as the streets filled with eerie silence. He witnessed his men rising from the ground with rage in their eyes. They seemed to forgot who they were as they kept clinging to their grudge.
" What happened to my country?"
Castella slumped down on the ground, questioning the reality as he saw the destroyed statue of the goddess. He brushed the dirt next to him to find a portrait of the smiling king and queen. No matter how hard he tried to remember, he couldn't recall the fate of his loved ones.
" Why? Why did this world do this to me? What have I done to deserve something like this? My people and my love are no longer next to me. For what is my existence in this world?"
The despair filled his heart, slowly blinding his vision. He cursed the world for being cruel and his goddess for being cold. There was no glory in his death as his kingdom was crumbled down to nothingness and the people that he swore to protect were dead.
Thus, he reached one conclusion. This world needed cleansing. A cleansing that would root pests and all monarchs, which would bring ultimate peace. He needed to bring down all those selfish beings because his mercy and sacrifice for others resulted in his death and his kingdom's fall.
" I shall bring forth destruction to create an everlasting heaven for all beings."
His eyes turned black as he put on his helmet. He brandished his sword, walking out from his castle to summon his eternal army that would bring judgment to all, including the blasphemous king that massacred his people.
Each step created a field that turned living things to specters. He fed on the energy of living to strengthen himself, believing this was the right thing.
" Rise, my people. We will kill the lost king and reclaim what is ours."
He raised his hand, summoning his men and his people to rally against the king of death.
Meanwhile the mage saw the horrifying power of the dead king. The sight of his power was similar to the king of death, but unlike him, he could summon an army of dead by himself. He was a monster that shouldn't have been summoned in this world because he was the shell of a former king.
" Just a little more and I will end this. I will seal both of them and leave this land."
He gently rubbed the forehead of the boy with a gentle look. The boy was sleeping soundly in his arms as he snuggled into his warm chest, making him feel alive. The boy was similar to the king and held tremendous power deep inside him.
He was the last hope for his plan and the future of his country. Besides, he got used to his presence and he liked being around him.
" Well, at least this is the least I can do."
His voice was filled with sadness for unknown reasons.
