" I will do it."
The cleric agreed without any hesitation in his voice. It is either life or death in these holes, so why don't take the chance when you have it? Nobody would worry about him and nobody would suspect him since he is translucent.
" What should I do?"
He asked, gazing at the red eyes bravely. The red eyes burst out with laughter that sent chills to his spine as it closed for a moment.
" Kill the most loved people of the two kings and I shall give you power and eternal life."
He spoke calmly, throwing something toward him. In the first image, there were 3 people standing together shoulder to shoulder and in the last one, there were a man and a woman who were dressed in luxurious clothes.
" The glorious king and the new king. Do you want me to put them in despair and cause bloodshed?"
His voice trembled, showing anxiety for the first time because it wasn't a simple matter. He would have to kill countless for him and he didn't even know the outcome of this madness.
" Yes. They shall fall into the abyss and become agents of nondead. They will escape the clutches of death and bring ultimate destruction to this world."
The red eyes growled with bloodlust, excluding the immense smell of iron. The water under him boiled as it turned red, symbolizing blood and massacre. The horrible stench of death immediately chased away the living creatures inside the tunnel, making them go mad.
Gulp*
He swallowed his saliva, believing this wasn't a simple God or a demon. It was a more primordial and bloodthirsty creature that appeared a few in history, bringing countless destruction on its path.
" The demon of blood and soul- Red. You are one of the 5 wonders along with the demon of wish, the demon of greed, the demon of carnival, and demon of vengeance."
His word made the red eyes laugh once again, indicating he guessed right. The era of downfall was approaching and he was woken up from his slumber to bring out the blood on the land again.
However, this time he was plotting more. He was thinking of a way to create eternal blood that would feed him continuously. To do that he wanted to let the mortals break away from death's jurisdiction.
" Once done with your mission, come see me again."
He whispered lightly, fading into the darkness once again. The cleric looked at his hand and saw a glowing red magic circle filled with ominous energy, but he didn't throw it away. Perhaps, it was too late for him to refuse such a gift.
" Fine. I will create heaven for myself. I don't care if you are a demon or not, I will get rid of everything on my way, including you."
His voice disappeared like smoke, as the darkness covers the underground with dead silence.
A bard sang in the tavern, praising the glory of their kingdom. The people danced along to his rhythm, shouting with happiness despite their hardships. No one was sad in this country and no one would ever be for their imminent diminish was approaching.
The light that shone on their life was curtained by the ancient evil, preventing the victory reaching from the heart of the kingdom, their king. The cry of the baby and laughter of the happiness slightly illuminated the halls, but the darkness crept upon the king, reaching for his throat.
The king woke up with a gasp, touching his neck with uncertainty. He had nightmares for many days and he couldn't understand what was happening to him. His goddess was nowhere to be seen as he cried out for her help.
The little hand of his child calmed his chaotic mind, assuring him of safety. He knew the goddess wouldn't abandon her people and he was her apostle. Hence, no one could harm him, but the feeling of dismay crawled inside his heart, making him uncomfortable.
" Hmm, my king. Why aren't you sleeping?"
The queen rubbed her eyes, seeing her husband in the moonlight. She saw his hair was messy and he seemed to be covered in sweat.
" Just a bad dream. Let's sleep."
He said, closing his eyes. However, was that true?
